    Plunge Saws. TS55 or MT55.

Has anyone used the cordless Festool, the TSC55? How does it perform, can it really replace a mains powered saw? FWIW I would use it sometimes with an extractor and probably less often with just the dust bag, the lack of power cord could be nice though and the ability to be mobile if I was...

    Plunge Saws. TS55 or MT55.

Nice review thanks. :-) Surprisingly ...If anything it suggests the TS55 has the better dust collection over the MT55. Other comments I've seen online suggest the Mafell has better extraction with its different blade cover design.

    Plunge Saws. TS55 or MT55.

Where are you based? Come and have a go on mine. That's very good of you mate, I'm up in Cumbria though so bit of a trek unfortunately.

    Plunge Saws. TS55 or MT55.

Read that a lot on the web, must admit though I've yet to see the Mafell in the 'wild'. Sounds like the Mafell solves a couple of the minor issues the TS55 has.

    Plunge Saws. TS55 or MT55.

Hi all, I'm currently considering replacing my aging 110v Festool TS55 with a new plunge saw and new rails. I'm looking specifically at the latest Festool TS55 or possibly the Mafell MT55, for those who've used both which have you bought/preferred and why? Any input would be welcome. :-) I'm...

    Veritas DX60 Block plane bevels?

I've just purchased a Veritas DX60 block plane and am very pleased with the quality of the plane. However I notice it does suggest a honing angle/bevel of 27 degrees, but does state that a bevel of 30 degrees may be more suited to timbers such as oak. Would there be any real world difference if...

    Plane for t&g flooring.

Cheers Jason. Out of interest, what uses have you found for the chisel plane? I used to work with an old lad who would use his smoother to adjust sticking doors (whilst they were still hanging) and then planed the bottom couple of inches that he couldn't get to with his smoother with something...

    Plane for t&g flooring.

Thanks for the reply folks, are the modern Stanley 92 a decent plane or would you suggest scouring ebay and maybe trying to find an older one? Also, what about a rebating block plane, would this be okay for trimming boards and still be able to be used as a conventional block plane?

    Plane for t&g flooring.

Any experience with the small and medium Veritas or L/N shoulder planes anyone?

    Plane for t&g flooring.

It seems I am fitting an increasing number of soild oak floors these days and now and again I get problem boards that are 1mm+ wider/narrower than the abjoining board. Obviously this then throws the next run out. It would be handy to have a little plane that I could just shave the...

    Which smoothing plane?

Hi all, I'm new to the site, looks like a friendly place. I am a carpenter/joiner by trade and work both out on site and manufacturing in the shop. Currently using Stanley or Record planes but am in the market for a new smoother and am considering Clifton, LN and Veritas. I am looking for...
