    Dust commander

That's possibly an illusion of the wide angle lens. The ports on the Oneida Dust Deputy are 2". Adapters (I think from Oneida but can't remember for sure) let me fix a 50mm Festool hose from the cyclone outlet to the extractor. Identical adapters let me fix either of the Festool 27 or 36mm hoses...

    Dust commander

Variation on a theme. I use a metal Oneida Dust Deputy (bought on holiday in Canada) on top of a steel crock pot and slide the combo into a frame that can sit on the floor or lock onto the top of my Festool extractor, like a systainer does. To empty, I take outside and either put onto my compost...

    Thanks, those suggestions look promising.

    Best Dust Extraction System

Thanks, I’d found that one already, but it’s not a smoothed rounded bellmouth, which I think is the whole point of trying to achieve maximum efficiency of airflow. I’m looking for around 140 / 150mm, ideally plastic as in the example above.

Does anyone know where you can buy a bell mouth like the one in the video posted above, please? I’ve searched and can’t find anything like it online.

Suggestions for suppliers of birch plywood in Scotland / north of England?

It's been asked before but not for some time and I suspect the answer is there aren't any, though I hope to be corrected. I'm looking for retail suppliers where I can pick up a sheet or two at a time. Ashley Timber in South Shields are good but so far I've found nowhere north of them. By 'north...

    Sold Hammer A3-31 (not working)

Yes, this was the first thing I checked and then gave it all a good clean and ensured everything was moving freely.

    Keeping options open.

    Sold Hammer A3-31 (not working)

Yes, I realise, hence the price. Possibly more attractive for someone based further north.

    Sold Hammer A3-31 (not working)

Thanks for your comments. It's most probably a do-able fix for someone, but just too big a project for me. I have minimal electrical knowledge and even the mechanics of extracting and replacing the motor in this heavy machine are beyond what I am confident of attempting.

    Sold Hammer A3-31 (not working)

This is my Hammer A3-31 planer thicknesser (single phase), new in 2008, kept in my dry workshop and used for hobby purposes. It has the 3-knife quick-change, self-setting cutterblock system 310mm. The machine is in good condition and has worked well until recently, but currently it will not...
