    Planer secondary fence

Cool beans. I think I will.

    Planer secondary fence

Hi all, I have the bench top planer thicknesses from Rutlands, and it works well for my smallish shed workshop (3x10m), especially for the price point (£200 on sale): https://www.rutlands.com/products/planer-thicknesser But; the fence doesn't move across the bed to allow stock to be run across...

Woodworking & craft shows and events…

Anyone know the timings for this. Being a Sunday, 10-4? Bit of a trek for me but I might make the effort. Would be annoying to turn up as everyone is leaving though!

Evolution Rage 5S Table Saw Wobbly Fence

There's actually a new version of the Rage5S coming soon. They haven't announced prices yet, but it has a much sturdier frame, rack and pinion fence (which will solve the biggest issue most have with it of the fence being wobbly or not square!) and in general looks like a massive improvement...

    Chip extractor 100mm - quiet

Is the high pitched squeal from the motor itself or the hose? Ridged hoses can cause a squeal at certain air speeds. Also if there's a small hole or gap anywhere the air can whistle through it at some unpleasant pitches. Try disconnecting the hose and see if it still makes the noise. If the...

    Battery compatibility

Never had a problem. There's no electronics in it, it's literally a piece of plastic in the correct shape to go from one to the other, with the metal contacts in the right place.

    Battery compatibility

In most cases the batteries are exactly the same other than the shape of the plastic and the connector style. Badapter or similar will allow you to use any battery on any brand: https://badaptor.com/ So in theory, buy the best tool and don't worry about matching it to a brand you have...

    Shed extension.

Yep, I'm planning on putting up some temp framing to hold everything in place whilst it's dissasembled. I may add the ridge beam idea though. Don't want an internal wall but I could definitely go with the beam. All excellent advice, thanks!

    Shed extension.

There is space as the area being extended actually goes past the rear of the house so is pretty open. That's a good point about things being perfectly square though. A small 10mm deviation is no biggie if I'm framing in place but would leave a gap if the panels were all nice and square...

    Shed extension.

There'll be a join even if I re-felt it due to the size. It's only a few years old so the current stuff should be fine condition wise.

    Shed extension.

Yes, that was my initial instinct for the build; using the exact same materials as the original. The current panels are screwed together so once I've emptied all the stuff that's currently on that back wall it should come out relatively simply. The roof isn't really curved, it's four...

    Shed extension.

Hmm. I'd kinda thought working on my own it might be easier to build the panels on the ground but yes, I guess manhandling them into position on my own once ready could be a challenge! For the roof; I'm just planning to copy the existing roof, which is in rectangular panels (two on each side of...

    Shed extension.

Hi all, I have a shed (this one: Montana Barn in the 12x8 size). I'm going to be making it longer to extend into the dead space currently behind it and add about two meters of length. So I'll be taking the back wall off, extending the sides, floor and roof and then re-attaching the rear wall...

Pocket Hole screws - where to purchase?

You're right, I was looking at the before VAT price on Amazon, so the toolbox scotland one is a few pence cheaper. Really I was hoping someone else would manufacture screws like this so I didn't have to pay the Kreg premium. But alas!

Pocket Hole screws - where to purchase?

Thanks - those are the ones - Still comes out more expensive than Amazon when you add the £5.50 (!) shipping charge though. It looks like the amazon ones with free shipping are probably the best I'm going to find. No one else seems to make this size of pocket screw with outdoor coating other...

Pocket Hole screws - where to purchase?

These are the ones. Little cheaper on amazon, when delivery is factored in, which I guess might be the best I can do. Not for outside though are they?

Pocket Hole screws - where to purchase?

Ah, good catch. Yes, it's outdoor ones I need. The search continues!

Pocket Hole screws - where to purchase?

I couldn't find any that were 64ish long but also had the narrow stem. They all started to get fat with that length!

Pocket Hole screws - where to purchase?

Ah, that is a much better value pack. 8 pence per screw is better than 18! Thank you. Thanks - I was trying to just buy the size I need rather than a multi-size kit as I always end up with lots of the middle sizes knocking around for years! (also, that kit doesn't have the 64mm screws) I only...
