    Shaper Origin owners?

Just seen this section up and glad to see there's quite a few members with CNC machines. I use a Shaper Origin with my workflow. I use it for cutting templates, (table legs, drawer fronts etc), decorative inlays, dovetails and engraving etc etc. It's a great bit of kit. I've been using...

    PT 310 feed problem (fixed)

Morning, I have a Record Power PT 310 and the feeder rollers have stoped working. I forgot to throw the lever to activate them before starting. I realised when it wouldn't feed so then dropped the lever. Looks like this has done something to stop them from rotating. Any Ideas on a fix? Cheers

    Titebond!?

I've been a long(ish) term user of gorilla wood glue. Maybe 8 or 9 years. In the last 6 months or so, I've started using titebond 3. Longer working time and apparently far superior to its competitors, why would I not transition? Bought a 16oz bottle last summer and found it almost 'grainy'...

    Pinless moisture meter (40mm)

I'm wondering if anyone uses one of these? And any recommendations? I generally use stock 40-50mm thick 10-12" wide. And often full slabs. I got caught out last year with some walnut not seasoned properly and had real problems with my piece. I almost binned it. I have 3 elm slabs for a piece...

    Steam bending advice

Morning... Does anyone here have experience in steam bending? What I'm trying to achieve is a pretty tight bend. 180deg over 50mm diameter on 45deg angle. To create a twist for want of better explanation. Material is maple cut into 4mm thick strips for laminating to 20mm thickness. Its...

    Wood ID if possible

Hi. I wonder if anyone can nail this down for me? I picked up a couple of boards from a nearby sawmill which have sat in the guy's store for a while. He couldn't remember what it was or where he'd acquired it. We both assumed it to be teak or maybe iroko after a rub on the surface. Any...
