    You were quite well paid compared to my apprenticeship.1976 £13.99 for a 40 hour week. works out at 35p per hour. gave up a labouring job in a local factory at £21 per week. My mum wasn’t impressed.

    A simple magnetic knife rack. Zebrano wood with an Osmo Polyx finish. I cut a 3mm veneer off the back, using a band saw. Routed a 12mm wide slot along its length stopping 20mm short of each end. glued in Neodymium magnets and sealed over them with silicone sealant. glued the veneer back on and...

    My second project. A toy box made for my granddaughter. Made from leftover oak flooring for the frame, oak veneered ply for the panels and a sheet of mirrored Perspex inlaid into the underside of the lid. Finish is 3 sprayed layers of Ronseal diamond hard varnish.

    MTF slab top

    I bought this jig from a company near Chester. maybe the same place as you they’re not too far apart. Wood Emporium Woodemporium I think I payed £35 for the jig. Don’t look too close to the writing on it if you’re OCD! 😊
