So ideally we store sawn lumber flat, to keep it flat. I'm aware that leaning it at an angle is less than ideal, but if it's stored completely vertical and straight is that an improvement on at an angle?

In this case for a small side table, any significant pros and cons between the 2? Do the rules change for larger tables? Thanks!

Subject says it all really, on softwood can I stain before assembly? Seems a lot easier to get even coverage on flat boards. Will it affect glue?
