    Workzone Router Collet Stuck

Cheers guys, my first thought was “spray wd40 all over it” - figured I’d ask to see if there was anything obvious I was missing. I’ll have another go at it later today and see if I get any further.

    Garden bench slats

Weird timing, I just upcycled this little fella for my daughter (I found it in the back lane in a sorry state). luckily I had stacks of wood laying about I could use, and I didn’t worry too much about the strength of it as she’s only 18 months old! i’ll keep an eye on this thread though as I...

    Workzone Router Collet Stuck

I bought one of these cheapy (Aldi/Lidl?) things second hand as it came with a router table very cheap. I’ve never tried a router table (I use a Makita plunge router and a Bosch trim router for everything at the moment) so I was keen to see if it was a useful addition. I gave it a quick test...

    Bandsaw table top...replacement?

Yeah I could if I extend it enough so the fence is attached to that and not the metal table... I like the idea of not drilling the metal table now though, to keep it original - I want to make sure I can get the tenner I paid for it back if I sell it after all!

    Bandsaw table top...replacement?

Nothing to loose then! Cheers all, makes me feel a little less daft for asking! When I googled it and couldn't find much, I thought there must be some really obvious reason that I hadn't thought of not to do it

    Bandsaw table top...replacement?

ha ha, that’s a very good point! cheers for the replies, I’ll hold fire a bit to see if I get a “don’t do that, you will die” kinda reply... if not, I’ll do it only negative I can think of in terms of wood vs metal is durability, but not so much of an issue for this really... and if it does...

    Bandsaw table top...replacement?

I have an old dewalt 738 bandsaw... purchased for £10 not working, repaired it, replaced the blade tensioning bolt, put a new tuffsaws blade on and it’s actually a really useful tool. So, I wanted to add a fence as it didn’t have one with it (I’ve been clamping a piece of wood on when needed)...

Band saw - won't power on at all... things to check?

Awesome thanks, yeah I will tinker around with it and clean it up a bit before using it properly anyway, so a new blade is a good idea. Thanks for the suggestion, I wouldn’t have known where to start

Band saw - won't power on at all... things to check?

Fixed it! I woke up this morning (band saw blues?) thinking about the safety key and how it works and decided to go and take a quick look... my exact thought was "how can that possibly do anything?" I took the casing apart again to get at the wiring and switch etc but this time pulled out the...

Band saw - won't power on at all... things to check?

thanks all, some good info/advice in here. Yeah i'm pretty confident i can bypass the switch to then give a quick test and see if there's any difference. The capacitor looks fine, nothing obvious, no burnt smell or anything. Again it's worth trying though. If I get nowhere with the switch I...

Band saw - won't power on at all... things to check?

Hi, first post here! I recently purchased a used table saw, basically to try and see how I got on with one, before splashing any serious cash on something better. I've yet to actually switch it on though, because the seller also chucked in a band saw - which he said "doesn't work but I know...
