Sure thing about the natural finish, I have never been aske3d to stain it before!!! but they are adamant, I have shown them pictures of the green oak work I have done, and how it seasons, but they want it darker. does danish oil work on wood that is not sanded or planed?

I ave been asked to build a green oak Pergola, with a darker finish on it. I have very little knowledge on putting a finish on and would like some advice please. I will not be sanding or sandblasting the oak. Thanks in advance Loz

Also, on the subject, just bought a load of Green Oak, how will my HSS blades fair on this?(just found out they are reverseble) should I wait for my TCT ones? Cheers

Cheers Scrit, I wonder if I can get Carbide tipped blades for my thicknesser/planer, is a case of "one size fits all" for 10" x 6" machines, or are they make/model specific?

It's one thing I have necer done, but after having put a run of Jarra though my thicknesser, the blades are a sorry sight. Can anyone impart some advice on what to do? Thanks
