    Air canister

Hi all, as we are all very aware, saw dust is a big problem for all of us in one way or another! So although I don’t have too many issues with sawdust all over my garage floor, I think it would be better not lying all over my compound and table saws. One Idea I had of getting rid of this was...

    Budget table saw

That’s great thanks James. Typically they are all out of stock now! 🙄.

    Budget table saw

Thanks James, appreciate the response. Do you find that you need to add something on the sides to support the timber as I don’t think it has extendable sides? thanks Sam

    Budget table saw

Thanks Dave but I think my reasonable offer, wouldn’t be reasonable!

    Budget table saw

Hi all. I have been thinking about getting a table saw for some time and although I don’t have lots to spend I am finding it is becoming more of a ‘need’. So I have been looking at the einhell one from wickes or evolution or Titan one from screwfix so that should give you an idea on how much I...

What wood to use for Paul sellers workbench

That’s very helpful thanks for that. And good to know it’s not just me that goes to Wickes for their timber 😊👍

What wood to use for Paul sellers workbench

Thanks Dave, yeah I have watched them a few times now, now it’s just the case of buying the wood and ‘actually’ doing it! 🙄

What wood to use for Paul sellers workbench

Yeah I have wondered about scaffolding boards. Been to the Leeds wood recycling place a few times pondering over the big scaffolding boards for very cheap a metre, and feels like you are doing something right. And although I’m not worried about the aesthetics as such, the bench would need to...

What wood to use for Paul sellers workbench

Yeah I have been there quite a few times just to browse and look at their timber. Quite a lot of it is not the straightest pieces I have seen but for this workbench, I’m not sure how massively important that is! I’m all for keeping it local and not a big franchise but when it’s on my doorstep...

What wood to use for Paul sellers workbench

Unfortunately not, I have seen his courses and they look amazing. This was a course in London (when I lived there) that was ok but had quite a few flaws. I would love to do one of Chris’s courses but think I need to just get going on practicing myself before I do another course. Sam

What wood to use for Paul sellers workbench

My first project was a bedside table which I did in a woodwork course and I haven’t really been living in a place that I was able to carry on my pleasures! Now I have a garage so I’m slowly building my tool collection up and I feel the obvious thing that I’m missing is an actual workbench 😊

Thanks Jon. Did you put a couple of vices on it too?

What wood to use for Paul sellers workbench

Thanks. I’m not too worried about precise sizes as I can be quite flexible with that. Thank you

What wood to use for Paul sellers workbench

Mark that’s one very quick and detailed response so thank you very much! I’m based in Roundhay. I’m not keen on having the workbench anything other than as functional as it can be so softwood would be fine I would say. Apart from the obvious of avoiding the likes of wickes, are you saying that...

Thanks James, I have had a look on their website and it looks very tempting!

Thanks Linus, your bench looks brilliant! Well done! Do you find that you need more than one vice? Also have you ever thought of adding dog holes to your bench?

What wood to use for Paul sellers workbench

Hi all. I want a new project for the new year and as I haven’t really got a proper workbench I have been thinking about the Paul sellers workbench as it looks ‘fairly’ easy for a beginner like me. However, I want to know what wood people used and where they got it from? Wickes seems to be the...
