And that is smaller than your old shop? It looks at least comparable, but you're the one that knows.

Watkins Tradesman planer/thicknesser any views or information?

If you click on the second photo, there is actually a video of the machine which clearly shows a square yell plate behind the fence.

    Axminster AC254 table saw

Has anyone in the shed got a saw at home that they could bring in and test-fit in the space? Just a thought.

    paint finish

Are you certain it is a wood surface? Some kitchen cabinets have a plastic surface that is heat-shrink on to mdf. Just worth a check maybe?

Why are some router tables made up of cast iron but not others?

@Delaney - but that ebay offering won't remain at £102 with 3 days left to run, more like £300 - £400 when the auction closes.

    Made mistake plastering bathroom. Backerboard?

@HOJ - it's really easy, isn't it. Mind you, a great deal of care needs to be taken for measuring and cutting of holes for shower pipes! Just don't get it wrong!!

    Rutlands Router table.... Any Good

Make sure the plate is thick enough so that it won't bend or deflect with the weight of a router in it. Some of those Chinese ones are 9mm thick but can be bent quite easily in the hands.

    Renting a garage

My thought for when I move was to buy a place with a detached garage with space behind or adjacent to extend or turn into a double garage. Then I had a rethink and I will buy a large-ish shed to store all of my wood and metal in. Far cheaper than building, where nowadays you can reckon on...

    Made mistake plastering bathroom. Backerboard?

I suggest you send off for free sample pieces of the different ranges, primarily to see how soft they are - too soft and they will show any mark by gentle contact with the board, something you definitely don't want.

    Rutlands Router table.... Any Good

You can always build your own table with a formica-style top, along with a good quality router plate dropped into it? A hell of a lot cheaper than what is basically 1" square metal framework. Alternatively look for a second hand table for sale on here or the likes of ebay/gumtree etc. Have a...

    Made mistake plastering bathroom. Backerboard?

@MikeJhn - I'm with you on this. Did my walk-in shower and 3 walls in my bathroom with a similar product. It's just so easy: a thin bead of the silicone adhesive in the groove of a previously fixed board and slide the next board in! Simple! And the boards are easy to cut with a fine tooth hand...

    First Workshop - advice needed!

I had never heard of mens sheds until I came on here. Have a search for one local and find out when they are open. I really want to encourage you, but some of these places can be 'cliqhuey', if you know what I mean. Others can be the total opposite. If it means you travelling a distance to one...

    Made mistake plastering bathroom. Backerboard?

Have you thought about the sheet cladding for bathrooms in place of tiles? Just another option for you to look at, some of them are great, really quite robust. Alternatively, some of them are soft as sheite so get some samples to check for yourself if you go down that route, that's exactly what...
