Nova Lathes - are they horribly expensive to repair?

Yes, I'd guess he has Phil. I suppose I was clutching at straws and hoping somebody had learnt of a fix, or a firm that could achieve 'the fix' for me!

Nova Lathes - are they horribly expensive to repair?

Hi Ben I've been using a 20 year old Nova DVR 3000. Though being very robust & an excellent lathe, when they malfunction or in my case, stop completely, it's a nightmare trying to get service at affordable prices. The number of agents in the UK are limited, and then they're not always able to...

    Cascamite WBP

In my business I used several 3kg tins of Sovereign One Shot per week. It's totally waterproof, fire proof, ntoxic, & mixes readily . As it's made from cows urine you could expect a reasonable consistency between different brands of urea formaldehyde but that's sadly not the case! I recently...

    Startrite 351 Bandsaw Problems.

Thanks sunnybob. Yes, I'm using a circle cutting jig but the cut just refuses to progress. These particular blanks are 110 dia. & maybe some of the charring is being caused by blade wear reducing the kerf width & the tight radius binding on the back of the blade.

    Startrite 351 Bandsaw Problems.

Yes, thanks for all your comments. I'll check the motor out tomorrow & try a 3 tpi blade. I've had the 351 a while, after buying it second-hand, but this is the first time I've used it for cutting thick hardwood .

    Startrite 351 Bandsaw Problems.

Hi everybody, as a virgin member, this is my first foray on the UKW Forum. My problem is regarding my Startrite 351 bandsaw, with which I'm trying to cut 38mm thick oak discs (worktop offcuts) in sizes ranging from 100mm - 400mm diameter. Surface finish isn't important in this instance as...
