First table saw set up advice.

Thanks all. Cracked it. For others with the same saw.. The only adjustment is on the 4 Allan bolts under the saw table. The 2 at the front are relatively easy to get to but the 2 at the back are bisected by the table base. The base does flex a little but if you don't mind hurting the warranty...

First table saw set up advice.

Hi. Got my first table saw and am just setting it up. It's an Einhell TC-TS 2225. Other than the really bad nuts and bolts it was a pretty easy build. My main query is on how to align the blade. Specifically if there is enough wiggle room in the saw bolts to align the blade with the T slots...

    How many teeth are enough?

Thanks. Will play around to get the tpi I like and alter the speed and bandwidth to suit the wood/cut.

Suggestions to find a workshop leak

Water is a pig to trace back. By the look of it you are only seeing where it appears and not where it's getting in. Your detail looks fine so I would look elsewhere. For my shed it was knots that cunningly shrunk when dry so the weeks spent checking and rechecking the door gasket was...

    How many teeth are enough?

Scroll sawed for a while and am new to bandsawing. I have always used as many teeth as I can for the thickness of wood I am cutting to get the finest cut (hate sanding). I posted a query on blades and one of the replies made a sidebar commented that 14tpi was very very fine. I didn't think much...

Wanting to try easy to get wood.

Again thanks all. Not so much desperate for hardwood as something better than the very soft B&Q stock. The other woods used were gifted and just seemed more stable and took a better finish...... Although that could be me getting better

Wanting to try easy to get wood.

Hi I have been trying to source wood that is a) not so horribly dear (don't laugh I am new to this) and b) easy to eyeball before buying. I live just outside Glasgow and am truly sick of paying B&Q for banana pine or silly money for what looks like spare offcuts. Our local merchant (Shawfield)...

Can you flip a bandsaw blade?

Thanks all. Was fairly sure a) it was me and b) there was no special trick to switching. Just thought it best to check. My wife accepts that I will leak a little on my projects but would not be happy if counting to 10 was no longer an option.

Can you flip a bandsaw blade?

Yes but it goes on for ever....

Can you flip a bandsaw blade?

I am new to bandsaws and would rather not break a brand new blade by my daftness. I bought 2 new blades from Tuffsaws (terrific service, nice folk). On setting up the first I noted the teeth were pointing up and not down as I expected. I have either "opened" the coil wrongly or its welded back...

    First post bandsaw advice

Thanks. Quick supplementary query. The wheels have a track for the tyres and the tyres are not centred. Given the tyre is cambered I am currently centering the blade gullet on the tyre not the wheel. Correct?

A bit of scrap 12mm dressed pine. Testing cross, rip and curves to get a feel for the machine.

    First post bandsaw advice

Hi all. Got a titan bandsaw for my birthday. Sorted the fence and have a "notes to self" on various checks to do before cutting (mainly due to it not being precision kit). Online advice was that the supplied blade was not good and to swap out the blade asap. I bought a 62" x 1/4" 14tpi (as its...

    Files for scroll saws

Clever! I was going to apply double sided tape and assorted grade paper to old junior hacksaw blades as my clamps take pinned and pinless blades.

Can anybody help? I know what I want but cannot find it.

Was bemoaning fate with one of my technicians and he offered 2 suggestions. Pass him a sketch and he would 3D print one or I could have the ones on the old music stand behind me...... Off to try recyled bits whilst he is away happy with my rough sketch. regards Andrew

    Saw bed insert not level.

Masking tape it is.......tried spoon thing.....oddly enough that's why I bought the scroll saw. I wanted to clear off the non-spoon bits and carve the rest!
