    Dust Masks

That's a cracking price, I paid more than double that for the mask alone. The filters might be beyond their expiry date, but is there anything that can really 'expire' in particulate filters?

    This week's Lidl stuff

I think that was the previous (18v) version, this one seems to be Kompernass (like all of the current Parkside 20V Li-ion battery range) according to the manual.

Lidl Parkside shop vacs are back...

Based on the details in the manual (from the Lidl service site) it is made by Grizzly. (edit: Grizzly Germany, not Grizzly US, they seem to be different.) A few of the design details are different, most noticeably the power take off, carry handle, and there seems to be a 'cage' for...

    Router Bits

The advice I received was to never go cheap on router bits. They spin _really_ fast, and the last thing you want is for them to explode showering you with shards of carbide, or leave burn marks all over your otherwise beautiful work, or tear out big chunks of wood.

    Router Bits

I also got the 12 piece trend set Phil linked to, and it was an excellent way to start. I never expected to use the ogee profile, but all the bits have had some use now.

What happened to £50 corded drills?

One just popped up on Aldi for £20 including delivery. At that price its virtually disposable.

Get A Lifetime Of Project Ideas & Inspiration!

I recognise that advertising, so I'll just leave this link to Matthias' thoughts on the plans.

    Cheapo palm router

I was in the same boat when I bought this, but quickly found it invaluable. Roundovers, rebates, chamfers, pattern copying, recesses, etc. it's a very handy tool. I'll pick up a 1/2" router when I can, but the Katsu is more capable than I expected.

    Cheap Chinese plug cutters

I picked some up from Lidl only last weekend, so you might still find them in the aisle of temptation in your local one.

    Advice on buying chisels needed

The Lidl chisels were still available in my local store when I popped in on Saturday (to buy the little japanese saw they had).

    Table Saw

So after having a little time to assemble and inspect it, here are my first impressions. The saw top is not pressed steel, but some kind of cast, non-ferrous metal. As previously mentioned the powder coating was not perfect, but turned out to be easy enough to scrape down the bumps. Even...

    Table Saw

Well it just arrived and it is clearly made and support by Einhell (WZTS 2000) as it says so on the top of the box. The table seems overall pretty flat. There are a couple of small depressions (3-4mm across where I think the mount is spot welded underneath) which won't cause me problem, but...

    Table Saw

I ordered one of these as both my requirements and budget are limited, but if the top is too far out of whack I'll be sending it back.

Workbench Build aka Paul Sellers style

I'm feeling slightly inspired by this thread, as the timber for my own workbench is sitting in the garage waiting for me to have a free afternoon to start planing it flat. Hopefully I'll get as good results.

    Cheapo palm router

I got the set from Aim Tools in May. It is exactly as you expected, the trimmer, fixed base, tilt base and plunge base. Nothing extra that you can't see in the photos.
