Spray Booth lining / Coating question

Morning all, Bit of a boring question sorry. We have bought an enclosed spray room for spray finishing and just wondering if anyone has experience with wall, floor and ceiling coatings/linings. I see some people using peelable spray booth coating, but would a white correx work just as well and...

    Increasing manufacturing capacity/productivity

This is a good idea, thanks for the input; something similar occurred to me a few weeks ago – I think probably I would turn the current space into a showroom and office. The only downside it it would require more capital investment inc. moving the machinery and redoing electrics, ducting and...

    Increasing manufacturing capacity/productivity

Yes the panel saw has 1350 rip capacity and 3.3m bed so takes up the most room, then the throughfeed CNC is around 2.0x3.0m excluding infeed/outfeed and have managed to fit in a spindle, 500wide p/t and and edgesander around it all. We've had to move the benches onto the fab deck where we dry...

    Increasing manufacturing capacity/productivity

Thanks I will look into how we can do this. We do use the same delivery company and on bigger jobs get them to do all the lifting in etc. to the awkward properties which saves a lot of stress. Thanks again for your input.

    Increasing manufacturing capacity/productivity

Thanks that's a good point. Yes we do fit all our stuff. That's a good suggestion. A colleague of mine might know a fitter but otherwise tbh I wouldn't know where to look or how to advertise. Did you advertise or are your fitters ex employees / part of your network?

    Increasing manufacturing capacity/productivity

I should have clarified, the order book value I gave includes work in progress, both on site and in the workshop. Some of these orders have been in the order book for a while. One of them is even from over a year ago as the project was postponed twice by the customer in mid manufacture. Does...

Thanks. Our current order book is just short of £220,000 which will probably take us until November, plus the inevitable extras might add another £10,000 on.

    Increasing manufacturing capacity/productivity

Thanks for all your replies – wasn't expect so many responses! @sideways Thanks – as doctor Bob says, maybe not practical in this instance. Any one project might have 50-200 parts. Am vaguely aware of lean manufacturing, will have another look. @TheTiddles – will have a look, thanks. – The...

    Increasing manufacturing capacity/productivity

@TFrench – Thanks for your comment. Yes we need to set some 5 year goals. It is both comfortable and a struggle. Comfortable in that we have a good order book which could soon extend well into next year. A struggle in that 1. we struggle to meet programming/put the work out quickly enough 2...

    Increasing manufacturing capacity/productivity

Hi there, Looking to pick some brains with any possible advise on increasing productivity/capacity in manufacturing. Are there any areas that anyone can suggest looking at, from their experience. I appreciate it's vague but it would be interesting to hear of anyone's own experience increasing...

    MDF Spraying for dummies ??

Have you considered outsourcing it? Find a local, reliable and reasonable finishers and you would immediately be stepping up your game without having to do anything. Setting up a booth is expensive if you want to be properly compliant (and you want to be if you have employees) and ensure a top...
