    Veneers! Glues and processes?

Thanks guys. Hopefully I'll have some bigger pieces to do if these go well. Still only about 18"x6" though. Didn't think about a flower press device, I think that's easier option for me! Hopefully I'll have some photos up of what I'm doing over the next few weeks, just trying to get to grips...

Quite small. I'd probably aim to do 4" squares. Thanks for the link I'll have a read :D

    Veneers! Glues and processes?

First time with veneer and I have a few questions. I've just bought some birds eye maple veneer for a project I'm working on. My intention is to glue it to some walnut and lightly carve into it for contrast, which will be finished in some clear osmo polyx. What's the best way to glue this...

Thanks for the replies. I would like to see the grain so maybe a coloured wax. Can you clear coat a wax?

    Finishing Small Birch Ply Parts

Thanks, I've never heard of milk paint. I'll look it up. I didn't think about waxes, are they durable?

    Finishing Small Birch Ply Parts

Hi Guys, I have some smallish parts that I would like to stain and finish to a smooth finish. What's the best method and products for this as stains I've bought in the past leave brush marks or build up on the edges. I'd like to get a consistent coat all the way round with a smooth finish so...

    Dust Extraction Help

They look like good units. Do you have any experience with them? I would be interested to find out what the maximum run time would be. Can't seem to download the manual from record power. Edit. Found it. 2 hr duty cycle.

    Dust Extraction Help

I gave in on the barrel when it collapsed. I have a wood box now that's coping well but I'd like to be able to leave it on all the time when the CNC is on so sound is my next mission to sort. I'm guessing I'll need a pressure relief valve for any cyclone system?

    Dust Extraction Help

I'm after a bit of help/advice on dust extraction. The setup will be for dust extraction on my CNC Router and only for that sole purpose so I don't need to run it to multiple machines. I've been using the "hold the vacuum at the tool" method which last for so long and I think stuff it and suck...

Bench top Bandsaw or Portable Bandsaw?

    I hadn't, but it's tempting.

Bench top Bandsaw or Portable Bandsaw?

Thanks, I hadn't considered speed. To be fair I didn't know bandsaws had multiple speed settings. The budget I have doesn't give me much scope on brand, and those that are available are probably a variation of each model, if not just re-badged. I'm leaning towards the protable bandsaw at the moment

Bench top Bandsaw or Portable Bandsaw?

I'm after a small bench top band saw for rough sizing metal sheet, not huge sheets, A4 sized probably, and also the odd sizing of small wood sheets/items. I was straight on Google to have a look to see what bench top machines came up and portable bandsaws came up as well. If I bought one of...

Colibri - Kinetic Sculpture - Parts

Googling 6064 bearings brings up the wrong type of bearing. Is 6064 a rod end bearing as this is what I'm looking for. There is only the two types in the plans; needle bearings which I can get and rod end bearings which I'm struggling. I have emailed McMaster Carr for an accurate shipping cost...

Colibri - Kinetic Sculpture - Parts

I might take you up on that if I can't find anything suitable. I'll see how far I can get sourcing the other items. I few places sell the Low Socket Head Cap Screws but you have to buy 50 or a 100, and in the one size you only need 1! The wood parts will be done by CNC. I can convert to metric...
