    DB 180 lathe

Hi Gerry From what I can see online your lathe has a M18 x 2.5 spindle so you can get a chuck with the correct spindle insert. I have the record power sc4 chuck, you can get them at Mcnamee's in Strabane and they can order you the correct insert if they don't have it in stock. Rob

North Yorkshire help with a child's bed project?

If you are not looking to make anything fancy/high quality I would recommend just getting a cheap 2nd hand one from gumtree, probably save you time and money in the long run until you are able to make the one you want. ...best instant heater for garage/workshop.

Google vfd speed control on AC motor. Ebay has plenty for sale and you can see there...

    Myford ML8 Headstock bearing adjustment

hi, yes you're right about the collar for tightening the spindle in the bearings, I just tightened mine enough to take the slack out and didn't over do it, hopefully someone will be able to chime in with a procedure for exact amount but I think just past slack is enough and just check every now...

    ML8 alignment help

Hi I have just picked up an old ml8 myself, I have found that I have some play on the tail stock and have to push it away from me and it then will be a lined up position, but to rotate the bed there are two locking grub screws under the head stock which you would have to slacken. To get at...
