Best sheet material for painted cabinets

Good morning all. About to start my 3rd kitchen, this time for the most demanding client ever... the girlfriend! Have previously built out of WBP but always had issues with voids and edging (yes I should have bought better Ply). I have recently watched the Peter Millard series on YouTube...

    Cabinet paint advice needed

Hi, Hope I'm posting in the correct section here. I'm making my first painted kitchen cabinets and, forgive my ignorance, I have no idea what type of paint to buy. Until now I've only created projects that showcase the material and aren't painted Clearly I wouldn't use emulsion... can anyone...

    Homemade T-Track?

Hi, Just wondering if anyone has ever tried to make their own T Track by cutting a dado into a piece of aluminium box section? If so does it work? Seems like box section is significantly cheaper than pre-made T Track but most people I see tend to buy theirs.

Notes on Sykes Timber@Atherstone- Can you PLEASE HELP?

A massive thank you to everyone who has posted here. I always feel out of my depth going to a merchant because usually I fear I'm going to be laughed at for asking for a single board but I'm excited to look through their offcuts to get some bits for Christmas presents. Will be heading to Sykes...

    Modifying a pillar drill

Thanks for the feedback. I don't need huge capacity, just a bit more than I currently have (and never knowing how much I might ultimately want) and that seemed like a common sense way of achieving it. My drill motor is in good knick and didn't want to get rid of it so wondered if that was a good...

    Modifying a pillar drill

Evening all, I own a bench top pillar drill but would love to own a floor-standing press. Just wondering if anyone has tried to put a longer length of pipe in the pillar of their drill to increase the throat capacity? I'm thinking that if I buy about 1200mm of steel tube at the same diameter...

    Edge banding MDF?

Hi there, Planning on building a painted media unit over the summer for a new house- it won't be holding much weight so wondering about making it out of MDF (because its cheaper than ply) but I'm not sure about the potential exposed edges. Is it possible to use regular iron-on edge banding on...

Can someone help with my dust separator issue?

Hi everyone, I recently purchased a (cheap) dust separator from ebay to help out my Henry Hoover which I'm running as my shop vac. Got it all connected today and gave it a test- I can see the sawdust going into the cyclone, but then its not dropping into the bin, instead its being sucked up in...
