    8x6 Shed advice

I got my 10x8 shed last year and insulated it with some loft insulation my brother had let from his house, I put a membrane over the insulation and then boarded the walls and ceiling with 11mm OSB (I would have preferred ply, but budget was small!) The insulation really makes a difference, and...

    Build a website....

http://www.wix.com is great for its simple drag and drop type design approach. It's free for a website with ads but will cost monthly to remove ads and link a custom domain. I have used it a few times and you can get some really pro looking stuff when you play about with it enough. At the least...

Re-finishing an Oak Table - Advice please!

Hi All, Looking for a bit of advice with regards to re-finishing a table and some chairs that I am about to buy. It's second hand, and was originally from Oak Furniture Land, seems solid enough but the top and chairs could so with a sand down and refinish. What would you recommend to bring...

+1 for the Ryobi impact driver, given mine quite a hammering with various jobs and its brilliant! Seems to run forever on a 4.0Ah battery as well. Speaking of which, don't buy the batteries at silly prices over here. I bought a pack of 2 4.0ah batteries from the US on a well known auction site...

Where do you get your tape measure from?

I swear by these Roughneck ones: http://www.toolstation.com/shop/p11211 I use a couple at work and have a couple at home. Built like a tank and not too badly priced. I really like how they have the inch increments marked out clearly as well.

    Bandsaw blade help

Hi, I was wondering if someone might be able to help a bandsaw newbie! I have just bought a second hand Delta 28-180 bench band saw and need to buy a blade for it. I have looked in the manual that came with it and it says it accepts blades of 1/8, 1/4 and 3/8" wide and although it doesn't...

    (Another!) Shed Workshop WIP

Onto the base.... This weekend was very productive and the most knackering I have had in a while! Once again, my trusty dad came over to help but little did we know what we were letting ourselves in for.... I wanted to leave a gap at the side and back for maintenance of both the fence and the...

    (Another!) Shed Workshop WIP

Hello all, I'm sure, like many an amateur woodworker that peruse this forum in awe of others, I have always wanted a dedicated place in which to create sawdust. Me and the wife moved into our house last year, and since day one I had plans for a "workshop" shed in the garden. Unfortunately...

    Should I build my own....?

I had the same predicament, in dire need of a space for my tools, I did think about building (which would have been much more rewarding), I just don't really have the time (or the skill) to take on something like that. Here on the south coast I have just ordered a 10 x 8 pent (due in may) that...

    Budget Air compressor for nailer...

Hello all, I am looking at buying a small compressor to use pretty much exclusively with a nailer and the air blower attachment in my yet to be bought shed. Have been looking at 24ltr models around the £100 mark (tight budget!) and have narrowed it down to these two...

Hi, thanks for the reply and link to your post, what a great vise! .very useful. Unfortunately, I cant seem to find the supplier that you mentioned for your hardware kit. (Another) Workbench Build!

Hi Willy, apologies for the late reply! Yes, its the Ryobi impact driver (I also have the combi drill). I have only had it a month or two but I absolutely love it. having not owned one before I can honestly say that I wouldn't do without an impact driver now. For the price compared to other...

    Buying Ryobi Batteries from abroad?

Hi Guys, I have a couple of the Ryobi one+ tools and in the future look to expand on the system and could do with one or two larger batteries (I currently have just one of the smaller 1.3Ah batteries). I have been looking at battery prices here and the cheapest I could find them was around £65...
