    Accoya for a front door

I think it was heat more than water. The door had been painted black and it was last summer, when we had those crazy temperatures. I changed the panels for accoya and no problems.

    Accoya for a front door

I can only describe it as swelling really. Only in the corners of the panels. This is the front door made from accoya.

    Accoya for a front door

I made all my windows and my front door in accoya 3 years ago now. They had morrells spray colour finish. Square flush joints, no v grooves. I've had no problems what so ever. The doors 1100mm wide x 2200mm high x 57mm thick. Arched top. The front of the house gets a full on hammering from the...

    Sorting an uneven concrete floor

I'd give a liquid screed guy a ring in your area. Just fix a 80mm batten along the door end and pump it in. Job done.

contemporary horizontal boarded solid oak front door

I made one for my last house. Made it like a frame ledge and brace door but the head was only tenon thickness to allow enough to slide the T&G panels down from the top each side in grooves. Then glued front and back faces to the top rail after it was assembled. Still left 2mm expansion gaps...

    Abranet?

I thought the whole point of abranet was that if used with an extracted sander it will not clog or throw dust everywhere. We use them on our air palm sanders in the workshop and find the dust extraction is great. Not much good for just sanding in the hand.... A tad expensive compared to the big...

I've run my own joinery for 16 years so this is what I do every day. The turning bit is new to me but I love a challenge. (hammer)

    My next creation

Yeah that's where I got the idea from. He has a very nice workshop and some crazy machines. Clever guy. I do find my self shouting at him 'NO' when he uses his cross cut sometimes though. He doesn't hold the piece of wood which is against the stop....Could jam against the blade and fly out.

    My next creation

Onto my next one. I had a massive pile of off cuts of a job I just finished. American black walnut skirtings and architraves. So I ripped them into strips so I can make segmented bowls out off. I'm lucky enough to have an 1100mm wide drum sander in my workshop. Didn't know if it would just eat...

What you do with your creations?

I was lucky enough to sell two bowls which I had in my kitchen showroom. A client offered me £200 for two..... I didn't really want to let them go so said jokingly £300. He said yes and took them there and then. I did have to give him a discount on his kitchen though. Family and friends get...
