    Olive Wood

Looks really nice. Olive wood is one of my favorite woods. So far I have not had the opprtunity to work with it, only look at it in stores in such. That stuff is however very expensive over here, even the ebay prices are high.

    remote control cars

I flew RC helicopters for quite some time. Don't have any experience in the cars, but can give you one bit of advice... get out the $$$. For quality parts you will spend a bunch of money. I've looked at a few cars and figured out they are pretty pricey for the durable stuff. You may want to...

Ordering a Router from the U.S.

If I recall using a transformer only changes the voltage output, not the frequency.

    Spalted Beech Box

Excellent project results with scraps. I wish I had some scraps like that laying around.

    one thought...

Some random thoughts from me, not trained in history ro culture. My experience from Italy is that the country does not have much in terms of trees. Northern Italy does have quite a bit of trees but that was not until early last century. This makes me believe that the people in that area would...

    Galoot jump start pack?

That auction would do alot better with more detailed pictures. It would be hard to justify spending so much money on tools that you really don't have any idea of what shape they are in.

You may want to check in to Betty Ford's Spokeshave Clinic.

    Jointer Knives/blades

Ouch. I don't think you will be able to hone your way past the nicks and still have the three blades at the same height. I know what you mean about taking forever to get the blades adjusted, that's the worst part about my planer, next time I'm buying one with the carbide insert helix head.

    Cherry Box

Definitely not cherry (at least from my side of the pond) or brazilian cherry, the grain is waaay too strong. It's funny you should mention being a woodworker and not knowing what would you are working with, I go through that all the time. Every once in a while I'll find a cuttoff of some tree...

    Table saw stand

The current issue of Shopnotes has a plan. It's more of a cabinet system but may be worth a look.

    Workbench design

Scrit, Here are my two benches. They are significantly different. Here is a list of things I like from the two: Diefenbach - larger work surface - storage below - heavier frame - height Antique - tool trough - tail vice Something neither bench has is the set of holes in the top that go with...

How to acheiving a straight edge on a jointer?

Something not mentioned yet is that you need to put pressure on the part of the board which is on the outfeed table. If you put pressure on the infeed side you will get that convex curve. If a board is fairly long relative to the jointer then it will take several passes in order to get the...

    Yet amother Spalted Sycamore Box

That's a great looking box. I see that the front and sides has a slight curvature to them, did you sand or plane them that way after assembly or was it something you did before the assembly? For what it's worth, I also like the table.
