Metabo bas260. Blade off when reversed and bearing issue

From what you have said in the later posts. The blade runs true and freely with the guide bearings backed off. Careful alignment of each guide in turn and still the blade runs true. You try a light cut, and the blade wants to stop. Then the problem lies in one of two areas. Or both. There is...

Metabo bas260. Blade off when reversed and bearing issue

I have an old one of these, and it is a great workhorse. Yours will be too, what is needed is a step by step methodical approach. Firstly for goodness sake don't try to use the saw, and be very careful as your description sounds like you have run the saw with the doors either open or removed. I...

    New saw arrives tomorrow.

Hmmm points to ponder, Blade changing, I used that term to also cover the act of relocating the blade from one internal cut, to the next one. Sorry if that caused confusion. A project like my aviator might have 80 or more internal cuts. I'll leave you to do the arithmetic. So yes I do consider...

    New saw arrives tomorrow.

Both D shape blade clamps rest in or are hooked under a v shaped support that would be used to secure pinned blades. (that is why i suggest the clamp is in two parts. i) the part the clamps onto the blade end and can be supported in the table top to set blade length ii) the part that is...

    New saw arrives tomorrow.

Yes you do, but that is only half the problem. You need one hand for the spanner and one to steady the top arm. When the blade is released from the top it will drop with the weight of the bottom blade clamp. The blade and bottom clamp have to be held in place as the blade is inserted through the...

    Meet Cyclone

Looks interesting, I take it the cone is a way to divide the waste. Dust one way and heavier chips go down to a different collector? I guess we could all improve our dust collection, but as it is a cost which doesn't directly increase output we don't see the value. However if we consider the...

    New saw arrives tomorrow.

The DS460 arrived safe, and very well packaged. Double wrapped the first carton was taped and fastened with those vicious plastic strapping. This revealed a gloss printed carton with instructions in six or seven languages. Splitting the tape showed a complete polystyrene cocoon protecting the...

    can you help

I settle the clock mechanism in a hole cut with a No3 blade unless it suits the project to be cut on the lathe. There are adjustable flat bits which might be used, but I had one, and I'm sure it never cut a round hole in its puff! Or I might have misunderstood the original question.

    New saw arrives tomorrow.

After removing many splinters from arthritic fingers (as a result of much head scratching) New saw ordered. Postcard today from the FedEx holiday camp marked attempted delivery while stocking up at Tesco. Quick phone call and tomorrow is the delivery day. So what is it I hear you ask at the...

    A few name plaques..

Not exactly a name plaque, but a wall plaque none the less! I thought of adding coloured foil like yours but could not decide which items to highlight. Still completed some two weeks or more before it's needed. I love it when a client gives plenty of notice. :D

    Table saw question?

RWoody when you look at the ruler, think on and consider as I did. The protractor and the short rule on a t-square cover most of not all marking out. Expensive yes, but exactly right for the job.

    'Nut' C&C are welcomed.

Craftsmanship, genius I'm not sure what terms have not been used here. To me these industrial artefacts are fantastic, from design and concept through to execution, finish and display faultless to my eyes. Great work.

    What's it for??

Art in my opinion doesn't need either function or to be universally liked. Even if someone can't see the beauty for themselves, surely they can admire the skill needed to produce the item. In this case to add the home photo studio skills, I congratulate you on all points!
