    Bosch Router Woes

This is a very old thread but I came across it whilst searching for a solution when my 1998 Bosch GOF 1300 router, after may years of reliability, started blowing mains fuses whenever I turned it on. After reading the comments here I removed the suppressor which stopped the problem, meaning that...

    Damaged lacquer

Thanks guys. Ok, the white bloom has now all gone - the large 'spill' areas were solved by using meths and the 'rings' were removed using a hair dryer. The only problem I have now is that the lacquer's shine has been dulled by the meths so I need to get the shine back. I tried using wax, but...

    Damaged lacquer

I tried vigorous buffing and it didn't fully revitalise the sheen - but I will address the rest of the watermarks then try again. If still not satisfied I'll try some wax - not too bothered about re-applying periodically as we re-oil the worktops in the same room regularly anyway. Thanks for...

    Damaged lacquer

I have now tried rubbing a damaged area with meths - which has improved it dramatically BUT the shine on the lacquer has been dulled by the meths - seen in the image in front and to the left of the chair cushion. Other than spraying the whole top with a new coat of lacquer, are there any...

    Damaged lacquer

Tried that - maybe I put too much meths on  Seriously though, thanks for the tip - I may try that as a last resort.

    Damaged lacquer

Thanks for the info and link guys. Unfortunately I tried both the Mayo and Vaseline, leaving them overnight, and neither seem to have improved the marks. So will need to try some of the other methods shown in the link. If I have to resort to re-lacquering, any suggestions or recommendations...

    Damaged lacquer

It is definitely lacquered - I spoke to the supplier this afternoon and they confirmed it. They said they had a customer who had had a similar problem with the same furniture last year - and it cost him £200 to have it professionally dealt with. Unfortunately we don't have any Mayo in the house...

    Damaged lacquer

I need some advice regarding a lacquered Oak table which has been damaged by water. The white marks were 'hidden' under a 'protector' under the table cloth so we've only just noticed the damage. Anyone any advice on how we can rectify the problem - or is it a complete (expensive) strip and...

Festol TS55 Or Good Circular Saw and Guide Rail

Possibly, but there may be other solutions. I'll have a better idea once I see the FS rail profile. Mod_Edit This comment was posted by a retailer who sells/assists sales of EZ in the UK.

Roger. Can you post or PM me a close up picture of the underside of the rail and showing how the rail clamps fit. Mod_Edit This comment was posted by a retailer who sells/assists sales of EZ in the UK.

Just to clarify 2 points in previous responses. The EZ system has this feature too. Not sure how the Festool accomodates it, but when you change the angle of the blade on a saw it changes the the cutting point in relation to the base. With the EZ system you have 2 anti-chip edges, one on...

Festol TS55 Or Good Circular Saw and Guide Rail

What I mean by 'aligned properly' is a simple process. Because the user mounts their own saw on the baseplate that runs on the track they just have to ensure that the saw is fixed to the baseplate with the blade parallel to the track. If the user can see :D and has a steel rule they should...

Engineer One (interesting nickname :) ) Your comments about importing are all very valid. I have imported one offs in the past as a private individual, and this is perfectly OK and can save some money - until it goes wrong and the cost of shipping back to the manufacturer negates any saving...

Festol TS55 Or Good Circular Saw and Guide Rail

I agree - too much of this phenomena appears on US forums. I would like to think that members of UK forums are more mature. True, but I personally found it much easier, quicker and the resultant quality of cut much better using a guide rail system with ant-chip contol. The Steel I cut was for...

I am a UK businessman who is involved with the kitchen manufacturing/retail/fitting industry and I have been working with Eurekazone (the EZ developers in the US) to assist them in preparing for a launch of their system in Europe early in the new year. The launch date has not yet been finalised...
