    Scottish Thistle

Eugene, well done. I dont think there is an exact translation but it is words to that effect :-) The letters are written on but i have purchased a very good pyrography kit but I am still practising at the moment. Burning wood is a lot harder than imagined, especially doing lettering. Regards to...

    Scottish Thistle

Thx for the comments. Ive moved on alot since then and I am improving as I experiment. The timber is spalted beech which I picked up from a great place called Isca woodcraft between Newport and Cardiff. http://www.iscawoodcrafts.co.uk/ Really friendly people who do some quality stuff. Ive been...

    Scottish Thistle

I made this after around two weeks of getting my Hegner. It was for one of my workmates to give to his wife. I am chuffed to bits with it and so is he.

hegner stand. does it need to be fastened down?

I have my Hegner bolted to the stand with a gasket inbetween. The actual 3 legged stand is freestanding so to speak and is vibration free. If you have yours bolted to a workbench and there is still vibration, I would say that something is not quite right. A common problem is the link with the...

    freezing

To be honest, who wears the trousers in your house? I would kick my girlfriend out into the shed (well, I have a nice log cabin) to watch those pesky soap operas and have the saw in the lounge! However, an oil filled rad would be best...if she is bigger and tougher than you :-)

    how

    hegner

Hiya Steve, Are you buying a brand new one? The tension release works really well with the blade quick release (big knurled knob) For fret work, you can change to your next pilot hole in about 10 seconds. As far as the bottle clamp goes, I have 4 bottom clamps already fitted with my fave blades...

    Newbie questions

Well, Ive started scrolling with my Hegner and went straight into some Xmas tree patterns with some internal work. I`m using some elm which i felled around 3 years ago and have stored since then. I have cut it into squares 120 x 120 x 15 and am using some Flying Dutchman blades. Initially I...

    Hegner extras

Thankyou for the advice. I have found that Advmachinery sell extras which may work out cheaper to import than Hegner UK....However, times have moved on and due to the power of Ebay, I am now the proud owner of 2 Hegners!. I will upgrade one with the extras for myself and sell the other one on. I...

    Hegner extras

Hello, I have just bought a 2nd hand Hegner 2S and am about to embark on a new hobby. After doing some research, I am going to buy a quick release blade clamp and would also like to use a quick release tensioner. From what I can make out, there are two kinds. One is a red handle type at the...
