    Praise for Axminster

My Jet AFS 1000B air filter stopped working after 4 months. I called Axminster and they sent a new circuit board which I fitted but the fan still wouldn't operate. They arranged delivery which was a bit of a trial because TNT wouldn't take it without a box. I didn't have the box and it's bigger...

    Buying wood over the internet

I am thinking of buying from SL Harwoods. What is forum members' exerience of buying wood (not sheet material which I think must be more reliable) without having picked it off the rack. I've always done that up to now and left the knotty shakey bits for the next chap. If one buys over the...

    Makita ROS pad failure

Has any one else had the foam pad on a BO6030 fail. I've had the sander for a year or two and used it a fair bit bit I'm no pro so I'm disappointed the foam pad is coming apart so soon. The replacement seems to be about £40 and with a new sander at £127, that seems a bit steep.

    Oak Choice

I am planning to build and oak dining table. I went to my wood supplier (for something else) and looked through the oak stock. They have European (Croatian) and American White varieties. The european is 50% dearer. What views do members have on the relative merits of the two. I asked what the...

    Arbor Extension

I'm about to upgrade to an xcalubur 806 (my 50th birthday present looking forward to retirement). I hope this hasn't been answered elsewhere, honestly, I've looked and looked. Having looked a lot I am fully aware of the very emotive "D" word so I won't mention it but I'd like to know what the...
