    So basically cut off any green bits that do not have grapes on? leave the wooden bits; and are 'laterals' new shoots? :? See my garden knowledge is zip :( thanks for the info though guys, at least now I can happily cut off some of the mad excess safe in the knowledge that I wont kill it...

    Sorry! The whole frame was made from a peice of rough sawn oak (planed and thicknessed down to size) The chamfer was put on after the frame was put together (easier to line up :D ), the mitres are held by biscuit joints although towards the end I also drilled a 6mm dowel (more for decoration)...
