Can a user made metal plane body be deconstructed...?

Sounds like hard work to me. Best resign it to the ornamental pile.

    Axminster North East

I'm glad we have an Axminster store local to me in Warrington. Only problem is once in there you can't resist buying stuff. The credit card ends up severely bent after going there.

What size hollow morticer chisel should I buy? Axm Hobby

For reference this is the sharpening set I use http://www.axminster.co.uk/morticing-ch ... pening-set I hone the auger with a diamond file just on the cutting flutes NOT the diameter. Only lightly hone the outside faces of the chisel so you don't change its shape or size as another poster said...

Hole through side of a tube?

I would support it in vee blocks and use a series of drills in the drill press. Start off with small diameter gradually working up to full size. Be cautious when the drill emerges through the other side (of both walls) as it will snatch. If possible clamp the workpiece down to drill press table...

What size hollow morticer chisel should I buy? Axm Hobby

I would get a 6, 8 and 10mm. Even though they quote you being able to do up to 16mm with a 550W Axy hobby machine it is real hard work especially in hardwood. You may even find the going hard even with a 10mm. Don't forget to get a HCM sharpening set too. Even new chisels need a hone (just like...

    Sketchup 2015

On Windows platform I use the Snipping Tool from the Start>All Programs>Accessories menu. Essentially get the view you want in Sketchup and then use the Snipping Tool to highlight what you want in the picture. You can then paste it into a document or save it as an image.

Record Power AC400 air cleaner safety issue

I've received notification that AC400 air cleaners have a faulty circuit board that can cause significant overheating problems. My AC400 had a burnt out circuit board back in October 2013 and I received a new board. However I'm led to believe that they too have the same fault and Record Power...

Workshop lighting - looking for advice

MY shop is 6m x 6m and was a double garage. I had the electrician install 8 off twin tube 5' T8 battens with 58 watt 6500K daylight tubes. They are more than bright enough for my shop and I do have additional task lighting - specifically Ikea JANSJÖ...

Great stuff. I'm heavily active on Marc Spagnuolo's WoodTalkOnline Forum and have been extolling the virtues of your DVD set to the members. Planting the seed shall we say. Terry

Steve's workshop - Painting the outside walls

Looking great Steve. I know this is in the not to distant future and might not yet be in your thoughts but are you going to be running any ductwork for dust extraction? BTW I saw Workshop Essentials being advertised in Pop Woodworking :D . The Americans may make some orders.

Router woes: ANYONE ELSE WITH A T10, T11 or DW625 HAD THIS?

I had exactly the same problem with my table mounted T11. One or two clicks on switch on. I only noticed the speed controller was not working when I used a large diameter groover. I opened the top cover to find that circular magnet loose from the splined shaft. A little CA glue and some...
