    Bandsaw

I'd say you want a big old saw, may be wrong and there's lots of opinions on here but putting a long plank through a bandsaw is fairly tricky unless you've already tried this and are happy with the result

anyone tell me what delta scroll saws are like ?

thanks Gill, was wondering about the comparison. Guess a lot of folks run their Hegners all day, I used my Diamond for more general woodwork, restoration and some fretwork. Buying one from ebay is quite a pain so maybe I'll just have to save up and get a Hegner.

saw a delta for sale locally and wondering what they are like, I used to have a diamond so I'm kind of fussy in as much as I like a fret saw that cuts straight. also can anyone tell me how the Hegners compare to a Diamond ? Kev.

What wax and wood to achieve 'plank type' finish?

So sand it all smooth, round off the edges, stain light to medium brown, sanding sealer is a good idea and...

    Re-finishing Hammond C3 and Leslie cabinet...HELP!!

I have a huge pot of light filler and I just add some morrells stain if I want it darker, if you only have dark it can be a bit of a pain so maybe buy a light one and you can mix them. what you've put in looks ok, coloured varnish will cover that. you can always mix some sawdust / wood into the...

    Re-finishing Hammond C3 and Leslie cabinet...HELP!!

hi kev, was thinking, whilst working away in the garage, if you really want it black then use some car spray paint. you'd have to mask everything up with tape and paper, wear a mask and it might be messy, say four coats and ease it down after 2 with a pad from morells. You could also paint it...
