Fitting a plate rack wall unit

Thanks Mailee, feeling a bit more confident about the plate rack staying on the wall now! It does feel pretty solid as it is. My last comment about posting pictures was writen in frustration and maybe came across a bit harsh? The problem is the size restriction. I'm no IT expert but if the...

Fitting a plate rack wall unit

Thought I'd update this just in case anyone was interested....... In the end I did a few trials of fixings into my garage walls (they're built of the same blocks as the kitchen walls) and I didn't really get on with them. I will use the ones on the left to fix skirting boards in future though...

Fitting a plate rack wall unit

Owen, do you mean something like this? http://m.screwfix.com/p/frame-fixing-7-5-x-62mm-pack-of-100/93866?filtered=true

Fitting a plate rack wall unit

There's no room for a French cleat unfortunately because the back of the unit sits flush to the wall. When I finally get around to making some wall units for my garage though, French cleats will be the chosen method!

Fitting a plate rack wall unit

I've been fitting a new kitchen over the past few weeks and months and I've got a bit stuck with the plate rack..... All the other wall units have the handy little brackets to hang them on but the plate rack unit has a solid back and no brackets. My question is - what is the best way to hang...

    Babies bedroom furniture build

They look fantastic! We've got a 6 month old and we bought this chest of drawers from ikea for his room http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/50067168/. Everytime I go in his room it jumps out at me that the drawers are wonky and they arent adjustable. Well worth making your own if you can...

    Meddings Drilthru tinkering

This might be the answer to my question? Unfortunately it's jibberish to me..... http://www.lmpforum.com/forum/topic/602-single-phase-motor-changes-direction-on-start/

    Meddings Drilthru tinkering

I really should finish some other jobs before I start on this one but I couldn't resist plugging it in to see if it works. It's a Meddings Drilthru with a 240V single phase motor. Bought off ebay for £30 and despite it's shabby looks I think I got a bit of a bargain? Most importantly IT...

    Fobco drill refurb

She was a bit useless. I paid £30 for it. Swings and roundabouts with the condition of it. I thought the motor would be 3 phase because she said it needed a shove to get it going but it says it's single phase on the motor plate which is promising so hopefully it's just a loose belt or something...

    Fobco drill refurb

Spooky. I collected MY ebay purchase today.... I see your 3 hour round trip and raise you 3 hours! (a 6 hour round trip from Clevedon to Littlehampton and back) It's a Meddings 'something or other' and it looks like it already has a single phase motor but I haven't had a chance to test it...

    Another shed thread

Thanks Roger, I must confess I saw your build on another forum and saved it in my favourites for reference. I was also impressed by your bi-fold doors but I won't be takling a project like that any time soon! These sheds certainly are built to last and I can sympathise with you lifting the...

    Another shed thread

Here's an update on the shed thread for anyone who's interested...... I got the 4 x 2 framing finished..... ....and clad with 12mm OSB, then clad that with the 6" feather edge boards which I pre-painted with one coat of 'Coastal Mist' (I'll paint another coat later).... ...then I wrapped...

As you know the customer is always right.

My guess: The customer wanted the the top drawers light and the bottom drawers dark? I love the curved cabinets, particularly the tall one but the worktop is a bit of an odd choice.
