    rip saw

As heimlaga says... There's plenty of old beauties for a few quid on every car boot sale or even from tool dealers, all you need is 3-5 TPI 26-28'' handsaw with good handle, clean it and sharpen it ;-)

    Kiln dried, Air dried

I would say the basic difference is is moisture content, air-dried timber has 15-18% of moisture, which is suitable for outdoor projects, kiln-dried timber should have 8-10% and that's the wood for furniture and cabinets. That's it. Frank

    Interesting design of drawknife

Thx for your posts and opinions, it is as I thought 8) Improving of tool design which was invented probably at least few hundred years ago is quiet difficult task and many times doesn't improve anything.... So I'll keep my old school hand forged Tyzack of classical design :-)

    Best carpenters square

I'm using Swanson 9" for rough carpentry more than 8 years, I can only say I love it! And otherwise (1st and 2nd fix) I use 12" combination square. Stanley, Rabone or almost any older 2nd hand would work I think. Cheers, Frank

    Need help!

Moisture content 10-12% BEFORE bringing the wood inside, it will adjust in the environment naturally, the really important thing is to leave it in the room where you install it for longer period of time before installation (as long as possible). Finishes - you can finish the wood floor basically...

And at the end, when you install the floor, don't forget the gaps around the room - circa 20 mm, so the wood can expand a bit without lifting in centre.. I would recommend to lay it down at the end of spring or summer. Good luck, Frank
