Hi, thanks for the reply. I have just had a look at Rutlands site and checked the size of the mobile base which states max size for rectangle is 51 x 19 inches. The Axi saw table is approx 32 x 22.5 inches, but allowing for the saw base to be a little bit smaller do you think it would fit...

Can anyone tell me what state of build the Axi AW10 saw comes in when new. The Axminster site says there is some assembly required, I would like to know how much and whether it is any lighter than when fully assembled. The reason being is that I would like to know if it is possible to fit...

Hi thanks for the reply, so could I put a coloured preservative on and then a few thin coats of linseed oil. Do you know whether the preservative needs to be solvent or water based.

I think a 240v to 3 phase convertor would possibly be around £250 to £300, providing your existing motor is dual voltage which they normally are. Should say on the rating plate. This would also give you the option of soft start, variable speed and braking. Something else to think about.

Hi Jonny D, 4hp is 4hp whether single or 3phase. Only problem is starting and running current being a lot higher with single phase.

Hi Engineer One yes I had thought of going that route especially with my limited use at present, but think I might be dissapointed with the short length of the tables. At present I am also in the position to be able to afford something hopefully a little better. What I am hopeing for is that...

So it is possible if fiddly to set the tables accurately on the record. As regards the fence perhaps it would be possible for me to engineer something a little better. Hopefully some members with the Electra Beckam/Metabo will join in and give me some information about their machines.

Hi LN thanks for the reply, yes the fences do leave a lot to be desired. I have also read that the Record planer tables are not very level or not easy to level.
