[/b] Thanks for your comprehensive reply. The highlighted paragraph was, as you suggested, the crux of the matter ! However, you have now got me thinking on the availability of replacement discs for it !

    Work Sharp from Rutlands...?

Hi, I don't really understand the ins and outs of sharpening. However I was going to spend £50 on a knife sharpener at Lakeland. At 75.00 delivered this seems better value as I could sharpen my tools as well. Is there much "knack" to the stone to get to honing level after the machine has...

Confession is good for the soul - admit your mistakes!

Made a quick router table today. Old kitchen cabinet door and 6 ins. of plexiglas. Installed plexiglas with router screwed on. The idea being I would remove plexiglas and router to change bits. Just discovered router is too big to fit through hole. Afternoon wasted. Doh!

    Trying to repair biscuit jointer.

Hitch, My depth wheel is intact, it is the lug that protrudes from the casting that the wheel makes contact with I am trying to replace. If you can give me the size of the lug then that would be great !

Made a cheap cyclone extractor using Dyson drum.

Doing the Dyson thing is a great wee fun project. Including drying/curing time for Pinkgrip, it will take a weekend. But the thrill of watching your dust whizz round the drum is great. Remember to re-enforce your waste bucket if plastic. It will collapse of you clog it using a wand. I just cut...

Interesting article. Might build one of those as well. Principle kooks not unlike Triton dust bucket idea. Wee bitty more involved though !

Made a cheap cyclone extractor using Dyson drum.

Agreed. Though can you define "good dust separation" ? If I find my filters clog after 30 mins use without the device , then are totally clear using the new device, surely that must be "good dust separation" Though one mans "good dust separation" will probably differ from others. With the...
