    Work Sharp from Rutlands...?

I can probably manage that...... :D What I wanted to know is have you actually tried it and does it actually work ? Seems very lax of Worksharp not to put some odd fixing on the circle forcing a sale...if you know what I mean !!!! Going to practice drilling the hole in the circle now..

    Work Sharp from Rutlands...?

[/b] Thanks for your comprehensive reply. The highlighted paragraph was, as you suggested, the crux of the matter ! However, you have now got me thinking on the availability of replacement discs for it !

    Work Sharp from Rutlands...?

Hi, I don't really understand the ins and outs of sharpening. However I was going to spend £50 on a knife sharpener at Lakeland. At 75.00 delivered this seems better value as I could sharpen my tools as well. Is there much "knack" to the stone to get to honing level after the machine has...

Confession is good for the soul - admit your mistakes!

Made a quick router table today. Old kitchen cabinet door and 6 ins. of plexiglas. Installed plexiglas with router screwed on. The idea being I would remove plexiglas and router to change bits. Just discovered router is too big to fit through hole. Afternoon wasted. Doh!

    Trying to repair biscuit jointer.

Hitch, My depth wheel is intact, it is the lug that protrudes from the casting that the wheel makes contact with I am trying to replace. If you can give me the size of the lug then that would be great !

    Trying to repair biscuit jointer.

Hi all, About 7-8 years ago my daughter bought me a Ferm biscuit jointer......True joy.. #-o I used it 2 or 3 times and surprisingly it worked quite well......Until, The depth selector pin snapped off. I now have a notion to try to repair it using some sort of bolt into pre drilled...

Made a cheap cyclone extractor using Dyson drum.

Doing the Dyson thing is a great wee fun project. Including drying/curing time for Pinkgrip, it will take a weekend. But the thrill of watching your dust whizz round the drum is great. Remember to re-enforce your waste bucket if plastic. It will collapse of you clog it using a wand. I just cut...

Interesting article. Might build one of those as well. Principle kooks not unlike Triton dust bucket idea. Wee bitty more involved though !

Agreed. Though can you define "good dust separation" ? If I find my filters clog after 30 mins use without the device , then are totally clear using the new device, surely that must be "good dust separation" Though one mans "good dust separation" will probably differ from others. With the...

So you think it's working like a Triton dust bucket then as opposed to a cyclone ?

Made a cheap cyclone extractor using Dyson drum.

I am not technically gifted enough to be able to debate the point with any degree of certainty. I set out to build a cheap dust solution for my garage and feel it's working well. Certainly better than a small hoover on its own. Constant filter clogs. With this set up I get no clogs. Mind you it...

Made a cheap cyclone extractor using Dyson drum.

The inlet is actually slanted by some deg. Not too sure how many, maybe 10 or 15, but hard to tell from photos.

Made a cheap cyclone extractor using Dyson drum.

My understanding of the setup is that dust spins around the central pipe at speed forced against the outer walls creating the cyclone effect. Constant suction from the top takes any fine particles towards the hoover with the heavier ones falling into the bucket ? This is what I understand from...
