    Building a Go-Kart!

Here is a pic of the Bogie i made for my Grandson! It still needs finishing with a brake lever(thats what the slot near the seat is for), some rope and paint etc!

    Building a Go-Kart!

Depends where you come from but we always called them bogies or bogeys depending on who you talk to, dandies, trolleys and karties iv'e heard etc. God knows what iv'e created but it's none of those! I changed the design half way through, swapped the back driven wheel to the front and attached a...

    Building a Go-Kart!

Ok well things have gone off on a bit of a tangent  Started off building a little bogey for my grandson and while looking for some bits to finish it off i spotted my chainsaw which i never use now........... I wasn't going to post any pics until it was finished but i could do...

    Building a Go-Kart!

The other day i was speaking to a friend and the conversation turned to the subject of go-karts and how we built them when we were kids and don't see them anymore! So, even though i have a zillion more important things to do, i have somehow convinced myself that i'm going to build one over the...

    Kitchen island unit - UPDATED

Looks really good and well finished! What have you covered the wood with?

    Building a workshop!

Yes, it didn't have one when i bought it so i made a wooden version which seems to do the job! Brilliant idea thank you! Simple but effective!

    Building a workshop!

Some form of proper dust extraction is something i will need to look into later but for now i have just rigged up a pretty crude system using a vacuum cleaner. If you look at the 3rd photo, in the corner below the right hand row of screw boxes, you will see a green button. That is the on/off...

    Building a workshop!

You can't see them very clearly in the pic with the hole, but,i marked out a grid in pencil on the ply so i knew where the glass panels were and also the frame to screw the ply to. What i plan on doing,if i find i need to, is to cut a flap, the height of first pane of glass and the width of the...

    Building a workshop!

Ha! Good idea! I'm actually delighted with the way it's turned out so far, apart from the fact it's like an oven in there at the moment until i sort out some blinds! It's perfectly usable now but i want to finish a few things off and will probably start my first project on Monday, whatever...

    Building a workshop!

Thanks Reggie! Yeah, i was 99% sure i needed to, but as i have never worked with MDF before i thought i had best ask just to be sure:) Can't say i would lose any sleep if i never used any again......awful stuff! Sorted now though and just waiting for the router and it should be finished...

    Building a workshop!

Hopefully this is the right section to put this.... A little while ago i built what was going to be my workshop, complete with router table, workbenches etc. I hadn't even finished the project when the family decided to hijack the workshop for use as a gym! Eager to crack on with some...

    T-Bolts

Thanks for all the tips and advice, much appreciated! Decided to go for the easiest and cheapest option and grind down some M10 coach bolts. Should finally be able to start using (play with) the table properly tomorrow :)

    T-Bolts

The problem is that i can't find anything to fit the slot because the depth of the slot is only 3mm deep but 23mm wide I had to cut up some hinges , attach some ply and fix to underside of fence to slot into the track and then run some threaded rod through the fence to tighten onto the bench...

    T-Bolts

Nice work managing to wangle yourself a free table Reggie :) What size is "standard" t-track? This is what i bought from tilgear and i'm still struggling to find suitable bolts for it. Shorter bolts will now suffice ;-) I looked at both the incra LS and the woodrat systems and they look...

    T-Bolts

Thanks Rafezetter When i built my table i looked made the assumption that the purpose of the split fence was, as you say, to accommodate the size of the bit and also to extend the length of the fence when required. I opted to build a solid fence because i thought it would be easier, stronger...
