    Euro lock Escutcheon

The escutcheon with no screw holes goes on the outside of the door, to stop anyone removing it. Hope that helps Fred Just put my glasses on and taken a closer look at the picture, I,msure the plate goes underneath the outside escutcheon.

Good wood for painting...Good wood for staining

As mentioned staining softwood isn't always good, I tend to mix stains in with the topcoat, Finishing oils or hard wax oils like Treatex or Osmo, It takes the edge right off the orange phase pine goes through as it mellows.

    Large Forstner bits (55mm plus)

I have two 75mm or slightly bigger Forstner bits I bought from Wealden Tool Company many moons ago for boring into green oak posts, unfortunatley they no longer supply that size. I use them in a very large industrial drill press on a slow speed feed rate, I did have to get the sides of the shank...

    Wadkin BEM Bearings

No worries GER I’m right in the middle of taking a few bits off, the machine is relatively new to me and it’s the first chance over the past 18 months I know I won’t be using it for a while I am wondering if the spindle will come out of the rise and fall column through the top if everything is...

    Wadkin BEM Bearings

Hi GER Sorry, didn’t get around to it last weekend, I have however had a poke around today. It doesn’t look easy to be fair, I think it’s a case of taking the whole column assembly out through the front which would mean disassembly inside the cabinet. Another option might be to support the...

    Wadkin BEM Bearings

Hello Ger I have the same to do myself sometime sooner rather than later. I plan to spend a few minutes with my head inside the machine over the coming weekend to try and figure the easiest way to get the spindle assembly out, If no one else has any information I will let you know what I find...

    Wadkin BRA strip down

Sorry to hear that James, no rush here anyway. I think things are probably seized up a little on mine, the motor pivot on the opposite side to the handle doesn't want to come out. All the grub screws are out and I can't see anything else holding it is so I'm soaking it with penetrating oil for...

    Wadkin BRA strip down

Hello people I don't suppose anyone on here has any experience removing the motor from the stirrup assembly on a wadkin BRA 350. Is it just a matter of removing the pivot shaft and unscrewing the motor locating ring? Thanks in advance Fred
