    Pillar drill choice.

Hi, Axminster released an upgraded lineup today so maybe worth looking at? I have a floorstander from the previous range and it suits me fine as a hobbyist.

What did you do in your workshop today ?

Tidied it up. And challenged myself as to why on Earth I kept so much stuff in there that wasn't worthy e.g. general household storage that had no right to be there. It feels good and now I can better organise it for its intended purpose!

Opinions on Axminster pillar drill anyone?

I have this drill, bought it on a price reduction (the current price shown of £200) and have been really pleased with it. I had a Fobco Star before but never had the time and inclination to give it the TLC it deserved. So I went for this, brand new and with a three year warranty. I like the...

mitre saw..the hunt continues.... Bosch GCM 8 SJL..?

I've got the Bosch one you've quoted, bought on a combo deal with the stand and then there was cashback from Bosch. Delighted with it, solidly built, true and gives excellent results.

    Chainsaw oil

+1 for Aspen and ergo start on my Stihl chainsaw. A 5 litre container of a Aspen makes it slightly easier on the pocket but well worth it for the saw, strimmer and leaf blower.

    Lidl power tools this week.

I managed to pick up the circular saw, jigsaw and two guide rails. Judging by the few left in such a large basket in store the guide rails were very popular indeed!

In a dilemma over a tble saw

Good luck with the Makita - the reviews on Amazon are horrendous!

    Karcher Multivac Deal at Screwfix

I picked one of these Karcher WD3 P multivacs up last week following an email offer from Screwfix: http://www.screwfix.com/p/karcher-wd3-p-1000w-17ltr-wet-dry-vacuum-cleaner-240v/91431?cm_sp=Search-_-SearchRec-_-Area1&_requestid=203174#_=p £50 off is a solid reduction - the higher price is...

    Lidl sander.

Can't speak for that, sorry. But I'm tempted by the router if just for the built in dust extraction.

    Lidl - 12th November

Put the cordless drill, sanding kit and saw in my basket. Paid for drill & sanding kit then got home & realised the saw must have still been in the basket! #-o Now sorted thanks to my good lady who went there in her lunch break and picked one up for me :D

    Axminster: it's happened again...

Impressive delivery timescales, order placed yesterday at 3pm with me thinking it would be delivered on Friday when I'll be in and they attempted delivery today at 11am. Yes, I could have checked their site for cutoff times but they do have their delivery logistics sorted out, it must be said...

    magnetic tool racks

I've used these from Machine Mart, attaching them to French Cleats, good price at £9.59 for a set of three: https://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/product/details/3-piece-magnetic-tool-holder

    Bench/pillar drill recommendation

How is your Axminster radial drill? I'm looking at those at the moment.

Excessive dust release from table saw

I have a TS250-2 and found that the extractor tube that connects the lower blade outlet to the main outlet has a huge kink in it meaning the dust can't get through effectively ( or at all?). I phoned Axminster and they said a batch of the saws were fitted with very stiff hoses and this is...

Used Pillar Drill - Startrite v Fobco v Meddings

I paid £113 for my Fobco Star just over a week ago. I've been looking for a while and set up an eBay search with a mileage I was prepared to travel in order to collect it. To be honest I would have probably stretched it and called it a day out if a bit further away but would have drawn the line...
