Great news anima! We'll look forward to seeing your labor. I hope you're enjoying that scrub plane.

    Scrub plane-sharpening and set up.

snikolaev this is exactly how I flatten a board using my ECE scrub plane - working from opposite sides and then using a smoothing plane for the final flattening work prior to card scraping and sanding if needed. sharpening the scrub plane blade is tricky however thanks to some good video links...

The saw is on it's way. I can't wait to use new tool. I will make some test cuts before I run it on the table top. Thank you for everything Eric.

    Bamboo Flyrods

Do you know any links to those forums marcros? I'd appreciate a link or two. I finished my first bamboo flyrod eight years ago and caught my first trout on it shortly thereafter. Please don't wait until retirement marcros. Getting the jigs right to shave down the bamboo took my skills to the...

    Stanley No. 110

Tony I've not read Gray's book. In the 60s when I was in college in Texas I was a history major. My area of concentration was the development of the American West. In that context I had the privilege of taking four courses in black history and was allowed to interview eighty families three...

Eric that is an interesting notion of the toe-in. I need to test that technique - conceptually I grasp it, however, the execution side of me is a bit wide-eyed at its prospect...it sounds as though they are saying 'crab the cut line' if I read that correctly.

    Pulpit design help please?

Thank you for the good wishes houtslager. The celebrations did go well. Today I'll be back in the shop and will drag the camera down there for a few shots of the work and then some 'in place' in the chancel. Bear with my rather primitve efforts a bit longer and I'll gladly share them.

    God Bless America

I pray that you all had a wonderful Christmas and that your hopes of a joyous New Year will be fulfilled. I want to say a few last words before I stop posting in this thread. Jacob, Jesus was perfect – you aren’t. You are a classic leftist, obstructionist whose desire seems to be the nanny...

    God Bless America

Thank you for your commentary Jacob. Just a few thoughts of mine: Where did you serve in Vietnam? I was there not a colonial but as a soldier trying my best to protect a people fighting against the Bolshevik. “We also see slavery (albeit supplanted by simple racism since the civil war)...

    God Bless America

Jacob, first thank you for your reply. One of the greatest challenges with discussion is redaction and excerpting text. The contextual setting is your sitz em leben, as it is mine. There is no justification for the murders committed anywhere in the world. Given the nature of your disdain for...

    God Bless America

As an American participant on this board reading the thread ‘God bless America’ I found some consolation that God and America were once again used in the same breath. As a pastor, a former U.S. Army Ranger from the Vietnam War and a gun owner I have much to say about God, gun ownership and our...

Thank you Al. I've done that before too. What I find fascinating is how he made the first straight cut to get the narrower piece of plywood that he screwed down to the base sheet. I know that's a strange thing to think about but having wrestled with plywood and being a less than perfect...
