Hello Rob, apologies for the late response to your like, time just goes. You may notice that the left side of apron is shaped out higher than right, the reason for this is to allow more room to access the lower shelf. Take care, Pete

    Oil stone revival.

Good morning Richard, I was advised some time ago to leave the stone out in the sun, I can hear you all shouting what’s the sun. The heat makes the stone sweat, keep wiping away the oil that leaks out. Hope this is of use. Pete

    Flattening a worktop

Hello Phil p, Why not just work with the bench as it is and see how you get on. After a while you may not even notice it’s got a hollow in it. Just a thought, Pete

Table saw Blades - seeking advice & information

Good morning Frank, I use Screwfix Erbauer blades in my Scheppache site saw which is used for hobby use. I buy the 300mm the largest my saw can take. Before that I was ready to sell the saw and invest in a cast iron one. Absolutely no need now, I’m made up with the working/cutting of the saw...

    Glue

Hello all, I’m looking for advice/guidance on CA glues. Is the Titebond range of glues just a renamed superglue? I want a quick set glue for small items, sometimes I occupy myself by making wooden toys etc. It is almost impossible to cramp sometimes, and takes to much time to stand there using...

    Hardwood buying advice.

Good morning all, I’m in a place called Bersham, near Wrexham. There is a timber yard at a place called Bryn a Gog, Marchweil. He does a fantastic range of hardwoods all shapes and sizes at below normal prices. I know the above may not be of use to most of you but I thought it may be of use to...

    Turning hard wood

Thank you all for your replies/advice, appreciate it. I’m turning a bowl, a small one about 4ins. I was using the skew to cut a small V in the lip (decorative) and it was the toe that “sparked”. It took the edge off and I had to spend some time sharpening. I’ve stopped work on it now, I’ve...

    Turning hard wood

Hello, I am turning (excuse the pun) to the more knowledgeable than myself. I have been woodworking for some considerable time know, and turning is new to me. I am making an attempt to turn a piece of what I believe to be elm, I am struggling to get a good finish, at one stage when using a half...
