How safe are hairline cracks in a ceiling?

Actually, there is a plastic tank similar to this one up there above the room. Although it's not attached to anything and is empty. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

How safe are hairline cracks in a ceiling?

Great, thanks for the reply. So regarding the filler; do I widen the crack with a pen knife and then add it? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

How safe are hairline cracks in a ceiling?

Thanks for all the great replies! I've knocked on the plaster and it sounds solid to me; no hollows. I also went to the loft and took a look at the ceiling above as suggested. It's very difficult to get a picture, so unfortunately this is the best I have. I'm not sure whether you can tell...

How safe are hairline cracks in a ceiling?

I stripped back the ceiling paper in one of the rooms in our new house we are decorating, and the plaster is old lime & horsehair. The house is 1940s. The ceiling is in good condition apart from a few hair line cracks. Obviously the plaster is old so I guess that's to be expected. I was...

    Decent floorstain or varnish?

I've been going through the suggestions and they all seem great. I've decided we'd like a grey colour, which I see a good few of the aforementioned companies stock. Would this work on pine, do you think? I guess you'd have to do several coats. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Does anyone know what this profile is called?

Hi. I'm looking to replace some of the skirting boards in one of the rooms in our house. They're pretty at just under seven inches. I was wondering whether anyone can tell me the name of the profile? Thanks a lot. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    Floorboard buying advice required

I'm pretty sure I measured between two joists, because looking at our hallway flooring, the nails are about 12" apart right along the whole floor. It's more difficult to tell where the nails are in this bed room because of the state of the floor. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Pretty sure, unless I've done something wrong. I measured face to face, here's a picture. I should be able to ask for 4 meter lengths seen as I'm having them cut for me. Cheers! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Thank you for your replies. The distance between the Joists is 32cm. Inwas going to measure the nails but there was a loose board that spanned three of the joists so I just had a look underneath. The room size is 4x4 meters.

    Floorboard buying advice required

Hi. Some of you helped me sort out what I was going to do for my new floor. I wanted an oak floor in one of the rooms in my house, and we were discussing what option was best (solid wood directly to joists, engineered flooring etc) I decided in the end to go with the solid wood to joist...
