    At some point....

Where on the Border are you Mike? Murray Gibson Services Ltd in Carlisle might be worth a call. They work on all manner of electrical installations if it's just the motor than needs fettling.. Mick

    Dewalt palm router

Afternoon, I've just managed to knacker the screwdriver slots on the sub-base screws for the mini-router. Does anyone know the size/thread of these so I can order some new ones? I think they're m4 10mm pan head machine screws... but the book doesn't confirm and I always have bad luck...

Sheet Goods cutting table - Knock down

(oh dear - I just re-read my post and you can certainly tell it was past my bedtime when i wrote that! Sorry for the poor spelling, missing words, etc! That said - you seemed to have caught my drift just fine) Many thanks for your feedback. I hadn't thought about the issue of assembly on my...

Sheet Goods cutting table - Knock down

Evening all I've got a couple of built-in cabinet projects comming up so treating myself to a track saw. I could do with an appropriate table to cut on though - something large enough for a full 8*4 sheet, but not permanently fill the workshop. Those Paulk torsion boxes look like they could be...

    Workshop door lock

Thanks trevanion, So do you think I just buy the standard lock then the extras to make it work? Not all that fussed about security out here in the sticks, theft is entirely focused on quad bikes, land rovers and sheep out here. It's quiet enough for anyone to not worry about going at the...

    Workshop door lock

It's been six months since I broke ground on my workshop build, now just finishing off bits and pieces. My current quandary is the lock on the door. I want a key pad lock, allowing friend's to have access with a code rather than a key (may add a dead lock for when I'm away) but all the ones...

Replacing collection bag on a HVLP dust extractor

Ha, that takes me back to being "the boy" in the 'shop I started in. Changing bags was always my job. Found the fold over of the lip best. The real challenge was lifting/chucking the bag into the skip outside without getting a dust & shaving shower! Sent from my HTC One A9s using Tapatalk

    Building into a slope...

Good point. Soils are of the Brickfield 2 association (https://www.landis.org.uk/services/soil ... m?mu=71306) generally a fine loam with some seasonal water logging for the first 6 to 8 inches, a stoney clay loam for the next foot or so, then quite a dense block structured stoney clay loam...

    Building into a slope...

Looking forward to your next instalment! Ive just been looking at the vandex primary waterproofing/tanking stuff and the oldroyd membranes as a secondary barrier... Am I on the right lines here? Mick Sent from my HTC One A9s using Tapatalk

    Building into a slope...

If I had more space, I'd certainly do something like that. But garden space is at a premium and the passage between could be more workshop space! Sent from my HTC One A9s using Tapatalk

    Building into a slope...

Evening folks, I've been a long-term lurker here, getting inspired to get back to my woodworking roots (apprentice cabinetmaker some 20 yrs ago..) and build some furniture for our home. My workshop is shocking though; its too small, lets in water, cold, dark, over run with mice and last...
