Interesting.. u chance the freedom on my routers, Drills, sNders, jigsaw and table saw and spindle... as well as the planer speeds all the time. I also change out the tooling.
I think people have just not used to 7ding a single speed on a table saw which most saws don't accommodate as it...
Not sure why you'd want to. But but the best breakdown on VDF settings I've seen is a Playlist by Clough42 (I think) on you tube.. he runs through mist parameters. HTH. M.
Love a spindle, but theres not many machines that run at similar hp, things go wrong very very quickly,. next most dangerous thing in the shop after the humble chisel imo... but considerabky more 'bitey'..
Just throwing some numbers into a calculator:
Wadkin PK 18in at 3000rpm give a rim speed of 72m/s - oem
Wadking BGS12 at 3200rpm gives a rim speed of 51m/s - oem
Wadkin BGS at 4500rpm gives a rim speed of 72m/s - pimped to70hz
Maybe an old topic, but certainly an interesting one.
On another thread I stated that I prefer to use a VFD with a vfd rated motor as I feel it allows me to ramp up the speed the saw tips are moving which I feel gives me a better cut.
Studies have been done to determine the optimum tip speed...
I bought the Muscle Chuck (tall and stubby) from you not long ago after loosing my xtender. Love them. Use them with my site Router Table with a Trend T14. How people sti use the twin spanners is beyond me. Awesome.
Peter. Love your products .just trying to tell this chap not to try and reinvent the wheel. Use the round AUK unit with the appropriate lift, or use something else with the appropriate lift. Whatever. Many guys have used rhe old Elu /Dewalt 625 for years and achieved amazing results. And thats...
To get back on track if this chap does choose to go down the vfd route then IN MY OPINION it's worth checking Clough42 YouTube Playlist on the TECO LS510 unit. It may help.
Be happy.

Well said. Not sure why you're so obsessed with the AUK units.. They're good, sure. But so are many others. Are they the best? not in many peoples opinion... I use an old Festool 2000 in an old Jessem lift (bought from Peter above as it goes). Much preferred it to the AUK unit it replaced. I...
Oh, shouldn't have posted really.. it was early this morning whilst I was still dozy. Tip speed.. now theres a whole new conversation. But generally, if the blade is rated for it ( v. Important) the faster its spinning the less of a bit it will take as you you delivery the work piece to it...
