    Tip Speed - a discussion

Interesting.. u chance the freedom on my routers, Drills, sNders, jigsaw and table saw and spindle... as well as the planer speeds all the time. I also change out the tooling. I think people have just not used to 7ding a single speed on a table saw which most saws don't accommodate as it...

Not sure why you'd want to. But but the best breakdown on VDF settings I've seen is a Playlist by Clough42 (I think) on you tube.. he runs through mist parameters. HTH. M.

    DANGEROUS SPINDLE MOULDER

Love a spindle, but theres not many machines that run at similar hp, things go wrong very very quickly,. next most dangerous thing in the shop after the humble chisel imo... but considerabky more 'bitey'..

    Tip Speed - a discussion

Maybe an old topic, but certainly an interesting one. On another thread I stated that I prefer to use a VFD with a vfd rated motor as I feel it allows me to ramp up the speed the saw tips are moving which I feel gives me a better cut. Studies have been done to determine the optimum tip speed...

Can you adapt a fixed base dedicated AUK router to UJK Axminster router lift

Peter. Love your products .just trying to tell this chap not to try and reinvent the wheel. Use the round AUK unit with the appropriate lift, or use something else with the appropriate lift. Whatever. Many guys have used rhe old Elu /Dewalt 625 for years and achieved amazing results. And thats...

Motor choice for Wadkin AGS10 restoration

To get back on track if this chap does choose to go down the vfd route then IN MY OPINION it's worth checking Clough42 YouTube Playlist on the TECO LS510 unit. It may help. Be happy. M.

Can you adapt a fixed base dedicated AUK router to UJK Axminster router lift

Well said. Not sure why you're so obsessed with the AUK units.. They're good, sure. But so are many others. Are they the best? not in many peoples opinion... I use an old Festool 2000 in an old Jessem lift (bought from Peter above as it goes). Much preferred it to the AUK unit it replaced. I...

Motor choice for Wadkin AGS10 restoration

Oh, shouldn't have posted really.. it was early this morning whilst I was still dozy. Tip speed.. now theres a whole new conversation. But generally, if the blade is rated for it ( v. Important) the faster its spinning the less of a bit it will take as you you delivery the work piece to it...

Motor choice for Wadkin AGS10 restoration

For my saw, I'm going fir a new 3phase inverter rated motor with an inverter. No problems with variable speeds and can be wound up yo 70/80hz... that's giving you a tip speed on a 12in blade that you wouldn't normally achieve till you were running a honking 450mm blade..

Internal doors - "solid" oak and other queries

6in up would be a b..gger for the chisel work certainly..

Internal doors - "solid" oak and other queries

Because you're looking fown on the bottom Hinge but straight at the top hinge. If you set the bottom hing a similar 6in up your angle of sight makes it look about 3in up. So more it to 9in up and it looks nearer the 6in of the top.
