Have you tried Robert Sorby? They do a 50mm, possibly a 60mm

Best 6" Random Orbital Sander or should I get a forced rotation (geared) Sander?

I have the Makita bo6050, and have found it excellent. I’ve only used it with abranet, and using a Fein dustex, extraction is superb; I’ve never had visible dust remaining or in the air. An excellent finish can be achieved, using the different modes and grits. And for me, the ergonomics are...

    Table saw safety

    What a bizarre conclusion

    Table saw safety

I wrote of my father, not my grandfather (neither was a woodworker); I, like my father, use both a riving knife and crown guard. I don’t touch the table, because there is no need to do so, and to do so would brink my hands unnecessarily close to the blade. Using 2 push sticks means I have no...

    Table saw safety

Agreed, it’s not one thing several; ignoring just one can lead to an accident

    Table saw safety

I never have my hands on the table. I was taught by my father, who was taught by a very “highend woodworker” (a significant one) and himself taught many, many people to use the full range of woodworking machinery; the only accidents that occurred in any of his workshops came about because an...

    Small induction table saw

A Mikita MLT100 has a table of 960x690mm, which is as large as many proper table saws (with induction motors). So unless you need to actually pack away the saw in order for the workshop to function, I can’t see any reason to go for such a saw as a workshop tool.

    Withdrawn Everything

Good man! I too have some 110v gear that you’re welcome to. Unfortunately, I’m offshore at the moment. But if you’re still in need when I get back, a Marita compound mitre saw and jigsaw are yours if you can make use of them.

    Wanted Spindle moulder

Potentially, yes. Though I’d have to figure out whether my power supply is up to it.

    Bandsaw Blade Guide theory!

The set up that you‘re recommending is exactly how I’ve always done it, having been taught to do so by my father; he’s done it like that since he was first taught to use one, decades ago. This goes to show that whilst there’s a plethora of information at our fingertips, a great deal of it is, at...

    Vice recomendations

+1 for an old Record. There are plenty about, and as has been noted, the best prices often include a free bench… or look out for them as part of a job lot. As ever, if you need a vice ASAP, you may not get the bargain of a lifetime. But a good one at a good price is not hard to find.
