Are Metal sheds any good for workshops ?

Can someone pls tell what are the flip sides and adv of these over the wooden ones ?
Paul, does the MDF board not get distorted due to the dampness. My future workshop would be a shed with cedar cladding. Not sure if a shed like this is enough to withstand "destructive" levels of humidity and cold
Sorry, should have been clearer on the "leg height".
What I meant to say was the height of the "legs" of the workbench (as a guide ?) can be the user's own leg height + 50 millimetres ( sorry.. not cms)... remembered having read something like this in the forums
Is this a guide to workbench...
How does a noobie make up his mind on his workbench top ? Ask the forum experts stupid.
... and that's exactly what I am doing now
This will be my first worbench and due to some limitations, I will not be able to produce those lovely glued 2x4 beech tops. Hence stacking multiple layers...
My naive broad level understanding was that other than dados, the bandsaws can do almost everything the table saws can .. plus of course the added advantange of cutting curves.
Am I kinda right ?
Hi All,
While poring through some of the posts, I couldn't help noticing how some recommendations were made for purchasing Bandsaws "or" Table saws.
Any specific advantages of either one over the other ?
Is there any good "behind-the-wall" detector for sniffing out Wires / pipes / studs (/ skeletons ?)
my friend told me of a "triangular - black - detector" which does this job and fits into the pocket (size wise and £ise wi£e)... but he can't quite remember the brand name.
Any recommendations pls ?
Hi Woodcassady,
Welcome to the forum ! =D>
I would give this a try http://www.wickes.co.uk/invt/167657
The Wickes one is good as it has a tilting facility at different angles especially if you want to plane the edges.
