Hi there, I am going to have a try at building some stave drums - Which entry level lathe would you suggest, needing to be able to hold a drum measuring 300mm diameter x 600mm length & ...... weighing around 5.5 kg! thanks!

Its for a university project and the brief says it has to be mortise and tenons unfortunately!

Took delivery of my new Axminster AWHBS350N last week, not had a chance to set it up/use it yet. Think I will weld up a mobile base for it.

That Numatic NVD 750 is the front-runner as of now. Is it quiet? Any other recommendations anyone?

I need to get an extraction system set up for my bandsaw/table saw soon to be coming in the post, what do you think is the best solution? Is a shop vac sufficient for me to wheel around and connect when using the designated machine? My small workshop is in a live/work unit, so I live there...
