Anybody know of the cause of the manufacturing delay on the Veritas NX60 Block Plane? Its been in this status for some time and I know of several people who would like one - including me!. Anybody know when it might be back in production and what the problem is?

Yes based on the Record 073 - I'd just like to see all the widths available again - the 074 was the widest available

Maybe but there is something really nice about the Preston/Record design with its adjuster and with Record's adjustable mouth.

Just need somebody to remake the Record 074 - 1-1/2" - that would be good!

I don't think it Chinese competition in this case - probably just low sales. Their biggest problem now I would imagine is the innovation from Veritas - LN have stopped a few planes now unfortunately but no point producing what does not sell.

Lie Nielsen made the 5-1/4 for some years (in Bedrock style) - but they too seem to have unfortunately dropped it as well

I would like to thank Matthew for sorting out this issue very quickly sending a replacement plane by return of post. Excellent service. This relatively minor issue was the first I have had with a QS plane - hence I like to see plenty of the oil!
