    Have any dumb dreams?

Not really bottle. Just the ability to grit your teeth and hope for the best. I have thrown the brake in once or twice, but the reality is if a train is doing 70+ and someone jumps out it isn't going to stop no matter what you do. It's a bit like driving a train at night in bad weather. You...

    Have any dumb dreams?

I'm a train driver and this is a regular occurrence. Sometimes it's a wandering child. Sometimes it's some knob head messing about. Sometimes it's a bloke who thinks you're supposed to, or are able to, stop like a bus, and jumps off his bench and sprints to the edge with his arm out. Sometimes...

    Strictly Come Rigging....

There doesn't need to be a mathematically appropriate cross section. Representation is the thing that matters. It matters a lot for the people of those communities, who are also, don't forget, TV licence payers, tax payers etc. The inclusion of people with disabilities has added a huge amount...

    Strictly Come Rigging....

I watch very little TV. I can safely sum up my entire TV viewing as follows: Moto GP and Isle of Man TT, Henry Cole shows, WWII & WWI Documentaries, Guy Martin's Whatever and war films. And Strictly. I absolutely love it. That joyful three month orgy of spray tan and glitter gets me through the...

Aldi Bandsaw ( new model) coming soon. Buy it or choose other model

Well, I finally found an afternoon to spend fiddling with mine. As a complete newby with such machinery, I decided to leave the supplied blade on to avoid destroying my nice Tuffsaws blade with my ham-fisted efforts. I followed the tips on here (Cheers 🍻) and used the Snodgrass method from...

Aldi Bandsaw ( new model) coming soon. Buy it or choose other model

That's a coincidence. I've just been looking at the ones on my electric lawn raker and I reckon they'll fit a treat (y)

Yeah mine also fouled the door until I fitted the washer under the top of the bolt.

Aldi Bandsaw ( new model) coming soon. Buy it or choose other model

Thanks for tips (y). I found that my nut doesn't stick above the table surface even with a quite thick washer from my spares box. Weird

Aldi Bandsaw ( new model) coming soon. Buy it or choose other model

I finally managed to get mine out of the box yesterday and spend an hour fiddling with it. I am very relieved that it is in great shape, with no apparent damage whatsoever. So it appears I'm one of the lucky ones. So far I have two observations: 1: Figure 7 in the manual shows a bolt, a nut and...

Aldi Bandsaw ( new model) coming soon. Buy it or choose other model

I'm now dreading getting mine out of the box at the weekend. I can live with and work around a bent corner, but if it turns out to be a total dud I'll be requesting a full refund and then save up for a decent one. And lesson number 1 learned.

Aldi Bandsaw ( new model) coming soon. Buy it or choose other model

I had text at 1605 on Friday, telling me my saw would be delivered that day between 1130 and 1330... Needless to say, it wasn't. But it did arrive on Saturday morning. The box looks ok apart from where the straps have dug into it. I can't set it up yet because the garage is full of bathroom...

    Hello from Lancashire

Yes mate, I do. It's a regular job for me. Blackpool to Man Vic or the airport via Piccadilly. I also go to Liverpool, York via Leeds, Colne and Ormskirk. Best job I ever had, but the shift pattern is a killer.

    Hello from Lancashire

Hello, I've lurked on here for a while and thought I'd introduce myself. I'm Mark and I live on the Fylde Coast in Lancashire. I'm originally from Essex, where the sun shines a lot more. I'm a train driver and planning to retire in a couple of years to spend more time on my hobbies and...
