    At Last its done

Fine Woodworking had a good article on ventilation for AV cabinets. One solution is to leave them open backed or open fronted but you can drill holes in the base and the back (quite high up at the back) and it creates a chimney effect pulling in cooler at at the bottom and getting rid of the...

    At Last its done

What a lovely piece of work. One worry (sorry to put a downer on things) is adequate ventilation. It all looks so beautifully put together that I don't reckon much air can move through it to cool the video and dvd? Or am I wrong :?

    Eternal Bookshelf

I think it is truly amazing what you have done with hand tools. We all can get a little caught up in the next toy to make the next project easier - but its lovely to see hand tools expertly applied and what a stunning piece of work comes out the other end. Well done - you inspire me to better...

Shopping for hand tools in Sheffield

I think you are spot on scrit. The planes are excellent - and there is real passion for the product - just not the customer. We can have this conversation probably safe in the knowledge that the managment would not be meandering round this interweb thingy that every one seems to be talking...

Shopping for hand tools in Sheffield

It is a damn shame really. Its funny but the website to me is the window into the shop. I love lie-nielsens site and the level of contact you can get. I went to the states on holiday in 2004 and were in boston. We hired a car and drove all the way up to thier factory to buy a 5 1/2 and a set...

Shopping for hand tools in Sheffield

Well scrit - I actually live in Doncaster near the airport and I must have driven down highfield road a ton of times and never noticed that shop. I will pay them a visit. Might go on the mountain bike since it is a nice day. Out of interest, I once pitched to do clico's website for them...

Shopping for hand tools in Sheffield

Hi Christoph I live in sheffield and to be honest, never found a source for second hand tools. They were only made here - the best source of old tools I have found so far is ebay - and then its buyer beware. There was a lot of steelworking going on here, not much cabinet making and...

First Bandsaw - Read previous postings but still confused?

I went to DB Keighly today to have a look at the SIP 14" Pro and fell in love with the Jet JWBS-16. Okay, anyone know the good / bad points of this bandsaw. Best regards David

    My workshop floor

Nice one on the cleaning up. I do clean after every session but the floor is abrasive and holds dust. I need to seal the floor with something so when i sweep half of it isn't left behind. What floor paint does anyone suggest. Or would a wood floor over concrete be overkill ? Cheers

First Bandsaw - Read previous postings but still confused?

I have been reading the postings regarding inch blades and getting the tension on them. So 3/4 and 1/2 inch are suitable - excellent. I live in doncaster and I am rather near DB Keighley tools - so I guess i can play with one there. I do like scheppach as I have a ts2000 and HMS3200ci so i...

    My workshop floor

I have a double garage that I use as my workshop and the floor is nice and level and concrete. The floor is constantly a mess despite my efforts to sweep up and I need to do something with it. Would I be better to lay some flooring (wood or otherwise) or paint. What paint would I use...
