Thanks a lot mailee and pip for your advice. I managed to track down several suppliers of Acid cat and Zinnser Bin but only in what would for me be too large quantities.
May have to find something other than MDF.

I am making some toys, dolls houses etc. using 3mm MDF purchased from B&Q and unable to get a good finish. I have tried sanding with 240 paper and without sanding, used Rustins quick drying MDF sealer but I get a un-uniformed rippled effect also little particles of the boards structure grinning...
Hello All
Thanks all who gave advice on the blade breakage problems I was having.
I have now got a just a little more experience and I’m now using Olson crown tooth No 620 .024 wide, .011 thick, 20 TPI, they seem very forgiving and really stand abuse I find them just right for me and though a...
Thanks Clockie, Chippygeoff and Mark for your replies.
The breakage usually occurs when making a 90° even executed slowly. Not sure about blade tension though after reading Mark’s post maybe I have it too high
I’m at the bottom of the learning curve. As Chippygeoff said it all comes with...

I’m sure the breakage has nothing...

Though haven’t tried...
Hello all. I have just joined the club :)
I have just purchased a Jet JSS-16 variable speed Fretsaw and find it disappointing mainly due to severe vibration on speeds above 800spm also gaining access to the lower blade clamp is difficult particularly when fitting pinless blades. :(
