I'm with you on this one Screwfix used to be great - tools and supplies aimed at the trade, staff always used to have knowledge and could help. I do remember the mail-order only days when quality was great as well. Since it got sold off to Kingfisher (bandq) it's been getting slowly worse...
I got fed up with even a half decent "sets" so just buy good quality for the sizes I need. Most sets only have the through taps so I also tend to get the three piece kits with starter, through and blind taps. Got a good selection without the huge expense all at once with loads of taps and dies...
Yep couple of years - got a barn to rebuild and a garden to landscape first 🤔 so thought i'd better get some wood in to dry for a while!
Thankfully no - I help manage an ancient woodland ash grows like a weed so plenty is cut to open up the canopy. Owner cuts it for firewood but is happy for...

@GunieaFowl21 any pointers most appreciated!! I would just like to know which wires to connect where or how to work out which do what...
Thanks, great links and better than I have seen before. Still struggling to interpret how to wire up without the terminal block though. I've got 6 wire, two low voltage for the switch and 4 others. I've read that the motor housing contains a relay controlled by the low voltage switch but I'm...
Hi all, I'm new to the forum having just got a workshop at last... I managed to pick up an Inca Euro 260 which had been converted to 3ph via a transformer. Trouble is all the connections were removed to put the transformer into the original housing. I'm looking to get this set up to run back...
