    Toppling over fixes?

Spider-table ;-) hah and yes absolutely, i wouldn't be suprised if he's climbed up on top of it in the first 5 minutes... I haven't decided what i'm going to do yet, i've looked at it for a long while but nothing is jumping out as an ideal solution :/

    Toppling over fixes?

Would a fourth leg reduce the tipping all that much? The edge of the table will still come out further between the legs than the legs themselves. I did consider this, it would make a pigs ear of the underside moving everything around but it is doable if it would help remedy more than slightly...

    Toppling over fixes?

Hi guys, So I've got a bit of a problem, I built this play table for my son where it's a hoop basically with some supports and 3 legs with a Lego insert plate. Unfortunately... when you lean on the wage right between any 2 legs, it's a bit on the top ply side, not ridiculously so but...

    Router bit sizing - help!

Quick update on this. I've managed to do my legs, turned out nicely! However I did have a bit of a set back when my new router doesn't fit in my little router table. Ended up clamping the router in the vice with various bits clamped on but essentially a fence either side of the bit to guide the...

    Router bit sizing - help!

Thanks guys, I was planning on just clamping a bit of wood so my dowel is sandwiched between the wood and my router tables fence, and feed the dowel into the bit, obviously being stopped eventually by the bearing. Slowly and carefully chomping away at it, pull it out, rotate it slightly and go...

    Router bit sizing - help!

Hello, So I'm totally baffled by what size router bit I need to get. I have a set of dowels which are 38mm thick, I want to completely round over one end making it a half ball on a stick. My router is a 1/2 inch collet. So my thinking is half the 38, 19... and find a 19mm round over bit...

    Baby safe paint for projects?

Thanks Percy, I've actually used their emulsion before. Didn't realise they did a whole range of finishes. I think a few sample pots should do the trick for a few smaller projects st least. Does anyone know if any of the commoner woods are ones to stay clear of with babies trying to chew them?

    Baby safe paint for projects?

Hi guys, With the arrival of my little one, projects have turned somewhat more focused on that. I was planning on just using food safe chopping board oil to protect the wood but I'd like to paint some bits here and there and I wasn't really sure on the paint to use or if any paint (within...

    Plywood/Laminate Tablesaw Blade

Hi Guys, I'm looking to get a dedicated blade for ply/melamine/laminate work, i've seen there's a few super fine 200 tooth blades around as even with the (60 or 80 tooth - i can't remember) one i've got from axi i still seem to get plenty of chip out. Does anyone have any experience with these...

    Gold paint

Montana make a good gold chrome spray, if you do a bit of googling there's quite a few comparison tests and it usually comes out looking the most "authentic"

    English Workbench build

I'm almost finished with my workbench build which has taken forever, but i guess i can chip in with maybe another option not considered. I bought all of my wood from the oxford wood recycling centre, for my top i managed to find some really nice old 10"x2" roofing beams which i ripped in half...

    63mm tubing for "occasional" planing/thicknessing?

So after a lot of indecision I opted for the 100mm route which seems to provide enough suction with the blast gates in place which is good... However, I'm having clogging problems with the planer, the long chips seem to be catching on the extractor fan intake "grill?" A couple collect then a...

    Extraction options for small workshop

Hi Norris, I can give you some experience to a point with both of the axminster machines you mentioned. I originally ordered the FM300BC to go with my axminster aw10 table saw, and got it all built and hooked up but it was just too big and awkward for my space (4x3m cabin) I just couldn't get...
